I would like to see Hull go up automatically as it would be good for the Irish National team that Meyler and Brady are playing in the Premiership. Watford or Forest up via playoffs. Watford because the girlfriend supports them and Forest because I have a bet on them and also with ex-Saints players on their panel
I'm glad you remember the Huddersfield comments about Lambert, I do enjoy looking back on that and laughing. I wonder if Bournemouth fans still hate us as much as they did, its quite a strange relationship. On the one hand, yea we are not too far away from eachother as clubs, also I guess a lot of people in Bournemouth support Southampton which I can understand would anger local fans. On the other side however, historically our club has helped there's out on multiple occasions, both in terms of money and loans. Prior to that one season we were both in the same division, we hadn't played eachother in the league for something like 50 odd years, I'd hardly call that a regular derby. Yes OK they have some potential to be rivals in the near future if (and I think this is unlikely) they do get to the Premier League (or god forbid we go down), and start to play eachother regularly then. What I don't understand is the animosity some Bournemouth fans will insist on, why 'Hate' us just because we are a bigger club. We are nowhere near Man U, and in terms of trophies Pompey are a bigger club than us, yet they have no problems with them. Maybe its as simple as hating us because our kit has white instead of black on it, I've heard stranger reasons for rivalries existing.
I personally don't believe that the majority do hate us. They're just desperate for some rivalry (understandable) and the two of us finding ourselves in the exceptionally rare situation of being in the same league a couple of years back gave them that chance to have a rivalry. I work with a fair few Bournemouth fans (I'm one of only four Saints fans in the office, that I know of, compared to almost 10 Bournemouth fans), and not one of them has a bad word to say about us. There's no banter or rivalry there at all. It's all between the Saints and Pompey fans in the office.
Much as I'm gonna enjoy it, never thought the day would come where I'd see Bournemouth 2 divisions higher than pompey
I'm surprised you have so many in your office who like South coast football. I worked in Ringwood for 4 years (2 jobs) before becoming a student, if there were any footie fans they were almost always fans of bigger clubs, plus most of my Ringwood mates support Chelsea. Can't believe you had a whole office full of south coast supporters.
Can only agree. I seem to worked in areas of the UK where there was hardly a single football fan. I find a few more nowadays, because football has such a high profile, but it is still dwarfed by the amount of people who don't give a toss.
