I am basing it on 5% chance of automatic and 25% in the playoffs

Another way of looking at that might be: To be promoted via the play-offs, a team needs to win just two of the three matches it plays - so each team has a 66% chance of being promoted. <laugh>

If we were a horrible bunch on this forum we could say that our chance of promotion is infintely better than a West london based Premiership team's survival hopes.

We're all nice people thoguh so nobody's going to say that <whistle>

I am willing to admit that last season and before I wondered just what Lloyd gave to the team. Yes he was difficult to get round, he could win the ball quite often, but after that his passing was dreadful. Little up in the air flicks to no one and his shooting ability the less said the better.

This year though I have seen something different in him. He has learnt to look up and pass to a team mate. I don't know if it is the style that the team plays now, or if he has had a different type of coaching, but I would put him in the mix for most improved player. He has always acted in the best way that he can for the club and every manager points the youngsters towards him as the right way to behave.

Maybe he is a late developer and the best is yet to come.

Personally, I'd like both to be at the club next season, regardless of which division we are in. The Lloyd haters always highlight the bad and never the good. Ok, so he's not the most technically gifted, but he's pretty dependable and brings a calming influence to the defence. You always get 100% from Lloyd.

And Cassetti has bags of experience. If we do go up I can't see him as a regular, but I can see him used sparingly.

From what I have read only. I think he is the most improved player of the season.

For those who go to games....what do you think?

I thought that might be your reasoning - I might argue that the chance of us winning our last two matches is about 50% and that of Hull not winning either is 20% which would give us a 10% chance of automatic - and that we are better than the other teams in the play offs so perhaps 30% there - so if I were the sort who liked to argue I might go for a 40% chance :)

For me the most improved player is Deeney, but Lloyd has improved too. Young Master Murray should take note!!!

They all think the sun shines out of his ah is that the time?

Are there any Lloyd haters? I am a bit of a sceptic on his ability but like him and think he is a tremendous asset to the club - at this level.

Yes, The idiot woman behind me for one. But then just about everything that comes out of her mouth is garbage. Even though he is popular, I'm still not sure he gets the credit on the pitch he deserves.

Unfortunately my view of him is 3 years old as I said earlier and from all accounts he has improved since then - have to say I thought that under Brendan he was stopping his wild forays forward which were my main bugbear. I have to take on trust the views of so many on here who really rate him and assume he is no longer a libaility but a real asset. However all this started from speculation that Zola maybe does not see him as part of a Prem jigsaw

That is a good debate to have. Certainly both players have made big improvements this season. For me LD's improvement is because of playing alongside Cassetti who just oozes class, even at 36. But Troy seems to have added much more to his game plus he is undoubtably fitter than he was last season. Maybe it's the Italian influence, as it was interesting to hear DiCanio's view that the Sunderland players were just not fit enough.

I've heard rumours that young Mr Murray is staying out of pubs and clubs and getting down to working at a pre-footballer - let's hope he turns it around and becomes the player his talent suggests he should be.
