The villa cup game had many second stringers and Lambert put his starting 11 out to try and win back the crowd. It didn't work. Villa will be desperate to win it, but I think we can do it. It will be a derby-esque atmosphere.
We changed both full backs for the cup match and got murdered down the flanks, combine that with the donkey Morison who although he did score, was throwing several banjo's at barn doors all second half!
It's looking more like Wigan for me, as Villa are starting to get results and look more likely to score goals. I think the Wigan FA Cup run could be their undoing. Kone anyone????
My head says Wigan but my heart says Villa. As terrible as Wigan's support is, they have some lovely players there. When Martinez moves on (as he eventually will due to the myth of him being a brilliant manager), i think they will be able to build a solid prem team. Villa seem too confident and could do with a spell in the Championship
Bad start for Spudz, great quality stream here for those without Sky: http://veetle.com/index.php/channel/view#5173dbb55ed5f/6793c1c0066179257bd0549f79dfc091
It's a shame it Stoke won yesterday, as was mentioned earlier. Both Wigan and Villa play decent football, whereas Stoke's 'muscular' style I don't think would be missed by too many people if they went down.
I still think Newcastle, Stoke or us may go. Spurs always go into meltdown so will lose to Wigan and Villa to beat Sunderland, then it's all up for grabs. Hope i'm wrong.
We're not out of it. The nightmare scenario would be Wigan and Villa manufacturing a result to send us down on the last day. However, I do think Wigan's luck will run out. Two good away performances, no goals and no points plus a backlog in May. Ideally Villa to go as I think they will be much stronger next season but I can't see it.
Off topic, Manchester United can win the title tomorrow or an Aston Villa win can confirm relegation for the bottom two. United should be up for it and batter Villa's goal difference.
Spurs are no way out of it. They have worked their arses off this afternoon and it's payed off. Brilliant game.
On the face of it, that Spurs turn-around should be great for us. First it means that MU can win the title against Villa tomorrow and they'll want to do it in style, so let's hope their goal difference takes another battering. Second, it keeps Spurs in with a chance of the top four and hopefully they will beat Wigan next game.
My Villa supporting colleagues says that's the worst situation as United will be up for it in front of their own fans.
I reckon Utd will bury them to take the title in style (or at least that is what I am hoping for), that said a 1-0 home win will be just as useful for now.
Man U are going to cream Villa hahaha Really hope we can all but send them down at Carrow Road it'd be HUUUGE!
