But out of the 17 games we didn't lose that many, unlucky not to win some more if it wasn't for the dodgy officials.

The 2 goals came from putting pressure on Reading and this time we took some of our chances we created. Most games in any game you could say the defence messed up, but they go in, that is what matters.

But thank you, we will enjoy another season in the top flight and no doubt bring in quality players to improve. Honesty, all the Ipswich supporters on here sound a little bitter.

I'm not really into rivalries, not even sure where Ipswich are in the Championship and don't really care.

Your right, Mick McCarthy has often been compared to Pep Guardiola in his playing style.

the fact is, your opinion doesn't count.

I think we've all said we don't want more "anti-football" next year, and our attacking options are clearly going to be renovated this summer. An £8.5m striker seems like a good start. With an attacking midfielder and 2 wingers supposedly incoming too, there's a good chance we'll play better, more threatening football next season. If not, then a lot of us will be getting restless.

That's the Premier League for you, it's tough and unforgiving. We're not a big team and won't be pushing for a top 10 finish any time soon, and I expected to be fighting in a relegation battle from the start of the season.

Although the football haven't been the best this season, I still think we've done well to even stay up. CH is making changes and bringing in new players improve us (Ricky van Wolfswinkel for example, Snodgrass and Bassong are other players he brought in that instantly made an impact), I don't believe for one second he is anti football or too negative.

But anyway, good luck to you next season, maybe you'll join us in the Premier League.

The bitterness in this thread is ridiculous, seriously get over yourselves. As a Norwich fan who was there the first 15 minutes of each half we were great after that we played a horrible brand of football, it's a pity because we were playing some brilliant football then all of a sudden we started hoofing the ball about, I don't know why we did that as I think we could of at least beat them by four or five goals if we continued playing like that.

I know they're good, they make for great games and it's good winning derbies. But I meant I couldn't careless if they do well or not, I especially couldn't be bothered to go on their forums and talk about their team.

Of each half yes, we had moments towards then end where we got our act together, but we sat back and allowed them to play football. We scored twice and then relaxed, that Reading goal shouldn't of never happened.

Correct, the Reading goal was a gift, but we pushed for the third goal and looked an all round better side. We are improving and the effect on Holt having a partner is huge.

We played some good stuff and saying we were only good for half an hour is very harsh.

Agree about the quality of the football, good, for 15 -20 minutes of each half, then pretty poor; unfathomable as to why such a difference. It wasn't that Reading started to play so much better, just we decided to give the ball away, stop competing, hoof the ball, lose shape oh god as I write it becomes worse, but there were positive signs, I think if we could sign 3-4 more quality players including 2 midfielders and another central defender as well as another striker, next season would be much rosier, I wonder if it is time to spend a bit more cash, and say maybe go into a net debt of a few million.

I do accept that it is hard to keep sustained pressure for a solid 90-95 minutes but am frequently mystified as to why we rarely play well for more than 45 minutes. There is a habit or tendency to take the foot off the pedal and yesterday was quite a good example. After going 2-0 up they did keep pushing forward but only for about 10 minutes and then sat back a bit and Reading re-grouped up to a point yet they were so badly on the ropes that even one of our guys said if it was a boxing match it would have been stopped. I was about to agree when Reading scored!

Am I the only one that saw us pushing for a third goal? How many corners did we win? We were pushing and, yes, we did hold on at the end but it worked.

i agree with you Long, a very Jekyll and Hyde performance. first 20-25 minutes of each half we played passing, attacking football, and looked good. then in both halves we dropped deeper and started hoofing it aimlessly upfield, usually to a grateful Reading player. i'm sure the instructions to do this did not come from the bench, so the players took it upon themselves to do this. the question is-why?

I'm just saying how I saw it, there was no reason to lose the ball by lofting it up the field and everybody running down the side of the pitch at times we had a ravine worth of space in our midfield and defence better players would of punished us. When did play football though we were superb if we do that for 90 minutes then I'm even more happy.

It seemed strange, I don't know why we chose do that as that game would of easily ended up being 4-0 if we kept playing how we were. At times we missed having a player who can link the midfield together. One thing I will say is I will not fault the effort the players put in they tried very hard. That is all achievable in summer I just hope we bring some more cultured players to the team.
