Relegation Player Swap Improvement Thingy Thread Of Destiny And Much DOOOOOOOOOOMMMMM

If you could swap just one of our players, or our manager, for a replacement of the same type (ie, first team striker for first team striker, back-up midfielder for back-up midfielder... so one example could be swapping Benteke for Cisse, or Mbiwa for Shawcross... You can't swap Perch for Bent or Fletcher) from those around us in the relegation scrap, who would you choose to improve our squad (/staff) and situation?

I'd personally swap Krul for Mignolet

The Mig has a better injury record, is a better all round keeper, and is good for winning points when the rest of the team isn't performing.

 

Shola for Bent or Jones (I know they're mackems but this is about ability). Just don't think you can underestimate the value of having striker options to change games in the PL. I'd prefer better players though than the two selected! Take WBA for instance, having Odemwingie and Long lying in wait is useful.

 

I'd swap Pardew for Di Canio then we'd sort our problems out on the right wing, mind you opinions may be hung on this one.

If Shola > Benteke is deemed an allowable swap, then that's the one for me.

Why not? Shola plays just about every game - albeit as Pardew's 'surprise master plan' of bringing him on after 60 whatever the scoreline.

 

He'd have to start I think and therefore it is sub for sub. Hence my willingness to select two former mackems for the weakest link. The thing is we need a better big man option AND maybe a pacey (PEA type) option. It is criminal to have Shola and a young kid. Hopefully this is getting sorted in the summer!!

 

So can we start him in the next game then swap him for Benteke at half time? Pleeeeaaaaase! Pretty please!

And before you try, no Shola isn't going to play LB in place of Santon and therefore only be able to swap with other LBs - we know that Jonas as will drop back to LB allowing Shola to be up front. Therefore a swap with Benteke is allowable within the transfer system rules. IT IS I TELL YA! IT IS!
