Anyone know about Madeira as we are having a holiday every summer month (NYR) and haven't got May's sorted Maderia has been suggested and i know nothing about it anyone have any info please?
It is supposedly quite beatyful. Known for their flowers, wine and food. My parents were there a couple of years ago and liked it. Think it's nice for more "mature" (older) people, but as I've never been there my comment doesn't help you much I'm afraid Dave.
I was told it was a favourite resort of your first team, for as an earlier postee said, very popular with older people .
Lovely place if you like flowers and spectacular scenery. If you're looking for Ibiza style orgies you'll be disappointed...
We went last month...Very beautiful but definately hire a car to explore the island...We stayed in the moutains and explored from there...Funchal has lots to do but don't get stuck there...
I've been looking at Madeira for a cheeky week away. It has supposedly the perfect climate in the world. It has no beeches though. I've switched my focus to the neighbouring island of Porto Santo. Although very small and hardly anything going on, which suits me fine. It has a beautiful 9km of unspoilt beech. The Pestana Porto Santa Beech Resort & Spa is a superb hotel that's well worth a look. See more here ...... http://www.porto-santo.com/hotels/pestana-porto-santo/
Porto Santa is the place we are headed I think a day on the main island then off to a spa End of May I think
scary airport under a cliff with the runway jutting out into the sea as far as I remember. Nice gentle place, good Portuguese food and wine, lots of pictures of Ronaldo. Good place to chill I think.
Nice, enjoy it mate. The beauty of quiet and peaceful places is that there is very little do but just stare at the beauty and relax. A very rare thing to be able to do in today's rat race. Pilots need a minimum 3,000 live hours to be permitted to land in Funchal. It's the second most dangerous airport in europe after Gibraltar. Feel the fear and do it anyway my friend. It makes you realise you're alive. I've now decided on Toulon.. by boat.
Not been DT. I'm shooting at chatsworth mid may and not getting away til Norfolk early June before Le Mans My parents have been, thought it was too rowdy. Sums it up for me
