Or maybe even the Weekend's Other Matches thread..? Don't worry, I did something similar today. I posted one or two messages about Saints and then discovered I wasn't on the Swansea-Saints match thread.
Looking at the stills on the OS gallery in picture 8 it appears that Lala has hold of Vorms thumb as he is challenging for the ball!
A little disapointed we couldn't get a win to keep pushing up the table but a point away to Swansea is a good one. Think we can get another couple of wins and a point from our remaining games, which would mean a very good first season back in the Prem. Onwards and upwards!!
Swansea are a very dangerous team and Boruc had 1 maybe 2 shots to block, Jos and Joshi are playing really well at the mo even though Fox did get overlapped 4 or 5 times the boys in the middle dealt with everything mostly in a calm manner
Well done to the Saints fans who travelled to The Liberty today. It was a great day with warm sunshine and both sets of fans mingling freely outside the ground, having drinks and catching up on the footie. Shame the match spoiled it!
Really pleased for our defense today as they had a tough challenge. Dyer gave Fox fits, but I think we knew that would happen. Fortunately Dyer also can't cross, which we also knew. I thought the match was a pretty accurate assessment of where Saints stand. Three months ago, we would have lost that match badly. Now it's a draw. It shows how much the team has grown, and also how we are getting every last bit out of our squad. On the downside, it also shows how we still need to improve before we start thinking about Europe. But that's something to think about in the summer. Given the side we have now, that was a quite a good effort and I'm pretty happy overall.
Just seen an angle of Lallana' disallowed goal, on MOTD, and I don't think there was anything wrong with it. Earlier I thought the ref had got it right.
I thought Fox was very poor first 15 minutes but grew into the game and then did a Stuart Pearce classic tackle hard and fair but man and ball ('Ave it) and Dyer seemed to be quiet for a long time after that. After the first 20 minutes we started to get equal with them and by the end of the first half they were hanging on. Pity the blind linesman ruled out a perfectly good goal for handball when clearly Lallana had his hands up and pulled them away when the ball was 3 ft from him. Goal should've stood. Second half was a bit disappointing from both teams and the game petered out. Good point in the end.
Originally thought that it was the right call. Now, not so sure...might've been contact with the arm, but not clearly so.
I thought it was right first time. Having seen it numerous times since, it looks like Vorm brings the ball down on top of Lallana - and simply loses control. Shame.
Admittedly, it's less clear than Puncheon's disallowed headed goal against Reading, where Yoshida was penalised for pushing, when he was actually pushed, but Lallana's effort is a goal, from the angles I've viewed it from.
Either way I don't think we can really argue about a point. Neither can we really argue about Mark Halsey giving a debatable decision against us.
Other than a few pissed up saints fans trying to start a riot with many other saints fans on the train, was a good day out! Just don't get why our fans decide to fight each other these days
