Going in to the last day I think we will see Villa on 36, Wigan on 32 - I really think Wigan are screwed this time round.
I really hope you're right, Thai. But I can see them making a bit more of a fist of it. A win at Stoke would dispel all those fears. Please, please.
Now that we've broken our win-duck, I think we should be looking up. Swansea have Chelsea, United and City to play, as well as Wigan away. Their last match is their best shot - Fulham at home. On that basis, they could well be only on 45, and Fulham who have to play both Liverpool and Everton, with a winnable game v Reading, so I can't see them getting more than 45. Wet sham have to play City and Everton away, with Newcastle at home and a winnable game against Reading, so I see them getting 3-6 more points, which may leave them in touching distance. So'ton have it easier with only Tottenham away being their no-hoper, but equally they might find West Brom tough and both Stoke and Sunderland will both be fighting hard. I think they'll do we'll to get six more points. So I really think, if we go for it, we could be looking at seven points from our last four games and be within a shout of a top half finish. Our goal difference may hamstring us and it is unlikely, but I really think we should go for it with something like 800k for each place. Our four matches are no harder than Southhampton's, so I'd say we should back ourselves. Now that's what you call POSITIVITY
At best I would give Wigan 35 with a win at West Brom but even that is not going to be a problem Braces himself for a bite on the arse
I can see the logic right up to where you said - we could be looking at seven points from our last four games I could be wrong of course but I suspect that win at LR is going to make next weeks games a hell of a lot tougher than it would have been if they lost.
I can see 5 more points, draw at stoke, win v villa and draw with WBA. Where that leaves us I have no idea other than it means we are premier league and with an exciting summer infront of us.
Our game against Villa could be amazing. We've got a genuine chance to make our safety absolutely certain, and leave them facing a last day decider. That'd be tasty.
My logic was actually thinking a point next week, with two further home wins, which I don't think is completely unbelievable, but yes with that win at LR I have completely written off the remote hope that we might win at the Brittania. I maintain we are still due a bit of luck, maybe now is our time! Home wins against WBA and Villa must be doable!
I think the Baggies will be a point for us but with Villa, seeing how PL out-maneuvered CH in December, could be a bit trickier and I would take a point here and now.
Not so sure that you'll get a win against Villa, Lambert will be up for that one, Villa ain't a bad side despite their position, if you play against them as you did today, they'll beat you.
We have it in our hands or rather the hands of our management team. For a period in the second half, admittedly with a 2-0 lead, the positivity was back from last season and we won every ball in the middle of the park and the gulf between us and Reading was in evidence. If it was the players fault that we stopped playing as soon as they scored then they need a kick up the arse. However, with the appearance of Tettey instead of Wes, I think it was the management decision to take the hold what we have attitude. Obviously, the end justified the means at the final whistle, and we are in a better position than at 1500. I just hope that with the apparent safety of Stoke as well, we might have a game to look forward to next week rather than another sterile nail biter. Go on Chris, let the buggers play for the rest of the season.
