I don't know if it's because I grew up in Ringwood and have long viewed Bournemouth as my 2nd team but they are effectively up :) and I'm happy for 'em. Only way they would not be up is if they lose 6/7-0 against Tranmere and Doncaster and Brentford draw their last game. Also they could be up officially anyway if Brentford lose today. Yeah I know their fans were not the nicest lot a couple of seasons ago, was really shocked when some of them kicked off, but you know, a few bad apples n all that. It's good to see things go so well on the South Coast at the moment with Brighton doing well, and Pompey going down to League Two.

Yep, really pleased for the Cherries. Hopefully, they'll appreciate that there are quite a few Saints fans who wish them well.

Not yet. It's Hartlepool 1-1 Brentford at HT. If Brentford win that it goes to the last day. Bit premature.

Brentford's last game is against Doncaster though. If Brentford win today and against Doncaster they may overtake Bournemouth but Doncaster will drop out of the auto spots, so the Cherries can't finish lower than 2nd.

Exactly, similar situation to us when we beat Plymouth in League One. Really can't see Bournemouth losing their promotion place, plus they will want to fight for the title as well so they will still have motivation on the last day.

Just need Brighton to be relegated and then the South Coast pecking order is perfect

So the way I work it out is that if Brentford win tonight, they and Donnie will have 81 points. Bournemouth have 82 with a better goal difference of +7. So the only way they could not be promoted is if Doncaster and Brentford draw against each other and Bournemouth lose 8-0.

Scary thought. Hope not, the mere thought of Gus Poyet in the Prem, and all the media arse-licking doesn't bear thinking about

I didn't think that possibility warranted mentioning really but yes, strictly speaking they're not quite mathematically up yet.

They might be in half an hour though!

I popped over to the Cherries Not606 site slightly earlier. There were none there.

They are my local team and I go regularly. Can't be bothered posting on the not606 board as there are no others to discuss with. It has been amazing since Eddie came back and no one thought we would be in this position at the end of the season, even in our wildest dreams. Promoted, **** yes!
