..is absolutly ****ing **** at the moment!! step forward Nathen Dyer and Rangel, everything about our performance apart from the final ball was acceptable, southampton had their chances and it was a tough game but we should have been better with our final ball into the area, it was almost emmbarrising to watch us constantly **** it up in the box.

Im not sure if the players are really coasting but it just seemed that we wernt mentally sharp enough at the buisness end of the field, i must also add that yet again Michu was spunking his chances away,i dont blame him as this has been an incredible season but it does show that if our main man isnt scoring nobody else is man enough to step up and share the responsibility.

I had us down for a draw or tight win today,Laudrup said this was a must win game, well we ****ed that up and now we face an incredible difficult end to the season, if results elsewhere keep going against us we could finish as low as 16th which would be mental considering the season we have had.

One thing is for sure, new players cant come quick enough!! our season has pretty much ended ,it looks like we are going out with a wimper, which is a shame. Laudrup is learning alot about the menal application of hi players, it is a concern with a massive season ahead next year, if the players arnt switched on after european games then we will be relegation fodder, what this end of season is showing is that we are in a comfort zone and the players are happy to remain in it, that will concern Laudrup who was a man used to winning everything.

Im not too concerned about the result today, it was a hard game and credit must be given to Southampton, i am concerned about the next game, if we turn it on against the big teams i will be mad, because that means the players are picking and choosing theri games. our chances of a 50 point finish and a top 10 finish have taken a blow and thats a real shame.

We created chances and gained field position, our final ball let us down, Dyer ometimes can be the most frustrating footballer in the world ! he needs to work on his game and improve his final ball, we also need to have a bit more urgency in the final 3rd.

At times our football was fantastic, we didnt do too much wrong today, it was very much like our last 3 games infact, but there is a spark missing somewhere and i and probably Laudrup cant really put a finger on it!

    Any thoughts on today ?
difficult to be too critical, the final ball was ****,so was some of our decision making other than that the whole thing was a bit ....i dunno, predictable ??

42 points means we are safe and its hard to not look to next season, maybe thats why these boys play for Swansea and not top teams the killer instinct isnt quite there. :)

I agree Norway, Dyer was on the end of some very good passing moves today but his crossing was dreadful. And as for Ki, well that boy could do with playing a few games in the Sunday leagues to learn how to tackle.
Other than the final ball today, I thought we did okay. Some of our performances of late could be a blessing in disguise as it will allow ML to pinpoint which players have not got the right winning mentality every week and what areas we need to strengthen. On today's game, we need a defensive midfielder (Canas), a winger that can cross, and a 15+ goal a season striker, among others.

Totally agree, Norway. My post on the match thread says much the same thing. I can't believe that a Premier League football club doesn't possess a single player who can consistently deliver a decent cross. It beggars belief because it is such a basic skill.

realistically we cant expect to win 3 of our last 4 games, fulham at home is the last chance for 3 pts. something tells me the players will be awesome in the next few weeks but that will mean nothing to me, as laudrup said, its easy t0 get up for the big games but beating the teams around you is where you really earn your corn

dyer has never been able to centre a ball and his skill in this area is becoming more glaring as chances at this level become more limited

Forgot about the wigan game actually. point is though that Laudrup targeted this game for 3 pts and the players failed him.

Nobody takes him serious though musty.

The issue is that as much as we all love dyer can we afford to sign a top level striker knowing that his service from wide is going to be ****!! i cant ever remember dyer crossing the ball accurate ever !! the best crosser of the ball at the whole club is tiendalli and that guy cant even get a contract !

Luke moore had nothing to work with, michu missed acouple of chances he would normally bury but it doesnt help when dyer and rangel give such **** final balls into the box, all that will do is the opposition push our players wide knowing they cant hit the centre forwad with the ball from out wide !!

I think dyer could be on the danger list at this club tbh, he has had an inconsistant season and for all the good work he does running with the ball he doesnt actually acheive any end product.
If pablo was that poor on the final ball then they would try and lynch him !!..<laugh>

Its all a little bit weird as overall you cant really knock too much with that performance. Maybe we require a bit of luck? michu needs a bit thats for sure, for the first time this season i saw him take a heavy touch when bearing down on goal where he would normally just smash it first time so to me its clear that he is suffering a bit in the confidence stakes.

Hopefully a good pre-season with plenty of time to work on things will be great for all concerned, i agree with ivor though RE dyer practising his crosses, he shouls stay behind with rangel and get vorm to stand in the goal and practice coming for the ball ...if nathen gets it within 40m of the goalmouth of course!! ..<laugh>

Norway, I know a man who agree's with you -

Swansea manager Michael Laudrup: "We did so well on occasions until the last pass. The last pass is so important and it is an area we could have done better in. <ok>
