Well, it fell a few miles short of the celebration of attacking verve that everyone had hoped for. Thankfully, the two teams will have chances in the future to set things right. Good luck, Swans.
I just don't understand how professional footballers can be so bad at one of the most basic elements of the game. As decent a game as Dyer had, his crossing wasn't just bad, it was putrid. How Michael Laudrup and his coaches tolerate it, mystifies me. Neither is Dyer the only culprit. Rangel and one or two others are equally bad. It's not rocket science, all it takes is practise but, obviously, the work is not being put in. It can't be. If I was a coach there, I would keep certain players back for an hour after each training session and keep doing it until such time as they got it right - consistently right. I'm not moaning about players who fluff a cross when they are under pressure because that happens. Understandably. But when I see a player fcuking up a good move, which has given him time and space to deliver a decent ball, I see red. There's no excuse. Crossing is a vital part of the game and we haven't got a fcuking clue how to do it. They should be forced to undergo intensive training to improve this aspect and, whilst they're at it, some weight work to improve upper body strength wouldn't go amiss either.
My boy can cross a better ball than half our team. Fustration but the lack of tacking and how the hell did KI and Rangel get out muscled then give a free kick away.
For The first time in ages the sun was shining and the weather warm. Fans mingled freely in and out of the pubs prior to the match. A full stadium and a good atmosphere. For The first twenty five minutes Swans dominated before the Saints took control for The rest of the half. The second half opened brightly with the Swans nearly scoring before the game disintegrated into mid table mediocrity. Highlight of the game: A Vorm save from Lamberts free kick. Verdict: Disappointing.
lowlight - need a gym and weight training to bulk these overpaid asswipes up. ffs we need a roy keane type player or 2, too many players are playing with their skirts on
Very true Ivor and if we think about it how many assists has Nathen ever had from crossing the ball wide ?? i would like to see some of his stats on that. Its hard to be too harsh on any of the players considering the effort put in this season, but we are mis-firing a little bit, the chances michu was burying for fun are being scuffed or missed, that was the same in the Norwich game too. When you revise the results and look at how close they were, things aint that bad, is it a run of bad luck ? is it a mental thing? who know, but if they perform out of their skins in the next 3 games i will feel a little cheated as victories against your closest rivals are the most important thing, laudrup stated this in his press conference too.
