No chance. "Dynamite" Dempsey will be keeping him out of the first team with his sublime performances.
I'm hoping for: Lloris Walker, Dawson, Vertonghen, Benny Parker, Huddlestone, Dembele Lennon, Ade, Bale. I expect we'll stay 4231 and without Benny so with City's aerial threat in mind(especially if Dzeko starts), I wouldn't mind seeing: Lloris Walker, Dawson, Caulker, Vertonghen Parker, Dembele Lennon, Sigurdsson, Bale Ade
I've got to be one of the few Spurs fans hoping Bale gets another week of rest. If he were a playmaker or maybe a big striker, playing soon, possibly too soon after a sprained ankle, he might still be effective. But when blowing by other players is so central to his game, all playing him before he's 100% fit will get you is a serious risk of reinjury. If he plays, I hope I'm wrong. I think I'm also afraid of the star effect if he's on the bench. It may make the rest of the team think they can't get the job done without him. On another topic, I hate it when one of our players give their players billboard material--especially when their players might be in need of motivation. I double-dog dare you, Mr. Adebayor, to shut me up with a couple of goals.
it might be that they can't do the job against city without him,and i don't think they would risk him,he wasn't fit
Maybe so, on your first point. On your second, I would think you're right, I just have trouble accepting that a player who turned his ankle as badly as I saw him turn it would be ready to play now.
Please keep up guys!! Comments made and referred to here 12 hours ago....... You will find that the more complete interview is rather more balanced and the comments about club unity have been 'exploded' somewhat. Surely you are familiar with the concept of journalistic licence????
Journalists need headlines.......even if they are not true.He can always apologise!!!!!?..while pissing everyone else off.
He's been running for nearly a week from the sounds of it and training with the squad for 3 days, I don't think there's any need to be cautious with him. As for the other bit, lets hope so. I feel like I almost goaded Dempsey into a hattrick against Basel and I think everyone's done it with Defoe
Ealing?! Not exactly close. I assume your best bet is to work out what tube stations you're near to and then look at this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/london/travel/downloads/tube_map.html You need to aim for the Victoria Line(light blue) to follow it to Seven Sisters and even then it's a 15 minute walk or a bus ride. I guess if you're heading from Ealing Broadway you should just take the central line to Oxford Circus but someone else might no better(I don't know much about the trains and buses around there) but as a rule of thumb it takes 5 minutes for every 2 stops and 5 minutes to change line.
Ealing broadway & change at Oxford circus seems the easiest route Easy to get back on the m40 from Ealing
Am I the only spur who is simply praying that we don't get humiliated tomorrow? Adebayor gives an interview and actually comments on the opposition team (who he played for and left with under bad terms) in a negative way to a journalist who he must know will distort it to make a headline...two days before we play them...in a must win game...when we have serious injury doubts... who says footballers are thick? seems to be the inequivalent of flicking rubber bands at a sleeping lions nuts just before you climb into the cage with him!
The media like to refer to the last 4 games between the two without mentioning the Crouch own goal in the first, their daily tapping up of Modric for the second and third, and that manchild Webb seeing Balotelli stamp on Parker and do nothing for the fourth (while months later once again breaking the rules and sending off Adebayor for trying to win the ball)
I think the fact that Bale,Lennon & Defoe are back in the match day squad should give us all some optimism that we can get a result from this game.
You must be the only one. Without him we have nearly no chance. Bale is our only match winner we have , without him we would be mid table.
I am glad he is playing - like others I feel he is too important for us to be without. We need to focus and beat this Man City team - they are not invulnerable
