That was Hobbs I think you'll find. He lost the ball a few times when running up and trying to pass. Mine would be: FAYE Quinn Brady
Faye Brady Rosie ( on 10 mins and showed more than the others in 90) we looked more dangerous with his link play with Elmo, it woke Elmo up.
Geo10 . Did you see the same game as me ? All 3 of our defenders were outstanding compared to the rest of the team . They were under allot of pressure all night due to nervy play from most of the others. This team are one to be proud of !!!!!Stop looking for negatives were there are none . UTT
harrynorman i was at the KC so i pressume so, i was commenting on chesters passing of the ball was poor, defensivley the back 3 were ok i just thought chezzy and hobbs gave it back to them too often when they tried long balls. Overall the team have done extremley well but last nights performance was poor. If you think different then was you at the same game as me?
I agree with geo, chezzy usually hits a diagonal ball over to Brady with unerring accuracy, yesterday he didn't hit Brady once. One went straight into touch. Last night we needed the cool head of a proper CM to get a grip of the game and direct the young uns.
Yeah we say it all the time but we need another Ashbee someone for the younger players to look to, im not sure who the leaders are maybe Faye but he's still not an Ashbee. A voice to keepo everyone on the their toes and boss a game
Oh yes I certainly was there backing our fine young team . Maybe football is just a game of opinions and we are entitled to our own
None were worthy of a MOM award. Everyone was way below par. Was it nerves? Was it the way Bristol closed us down throughout the entire game? We could have got a penalty - a little unjust (to Bristol) maybe but I have seen them given for less (replays show they weren't). We could have won it in the dying minutes but the Goalkeeper pulled of a brilliant reflex save. We very ineffective up front and very shaky in the last line of defence (i.e. Stockdale). No MOM for me.
Running up is what made Hobbs my MOTM. The team was static and needed someone to take responsibilty. We needed someone like Aluko to get on the ball, turn, and run at the opposition. At least Hobbs tried to do that last night and at one point it was only a poor touch that stopped him getting into the box. In terms of Chester I think he is a brilliant player but had a bad night, couldn't hit any of his trademark long balls across to Brady and wasn't as strong as usual at the back. Can't see how people are ranking him above Hobbs/Meyler.
Dunno mate, it's a long time since I saw a performance as bad as George's last night, it didn't look as if it was for the lack of trying, it was just everything that he touched went tits up MOM for me was the man mountain Abi Faye, him and him alone I'm afraid, although Jack Hobbs did look to be trying to compensate for the fact that we had no link in midfield, well not one that worked anyway, so credit to him for that.
Totally agree with the Brady observation. His all round play was really good as usual including a couple of brilliant tackles coming back to thwart Bristol breaks but his delivery from both dead ball and open play situations was extremely poor. As you say he seemed completely unable to clear the first defender.
Final result: Faye Hobbs Chester Up to date table (only those with double figures because it's late!): Quinn 36 Chester 28 Faye 25 Brady 24 Aluko, McShane 23 Elmohammady 20 Simpson, Boyd 14 Evans, Hobbs 11 Gedo 10
