But not much. A point was gained.
Wrong team selection by Brucey. Boyd was POTM,playing up front. We saw against Watford he no good in midfield.

Matty was god awful, Gedo the same. The back three were ok, nothing more.
Elmo was the worst player on the pitch by a country mile. Just did not fancy it. whenever a player gets in his face, he really is weak.

Quinnys worst game too but at least he kept going, same with Meyler.

After how many attempts do you say to Brady, let someone else take them?? Did ok but not good enough.

Fair play to Brizzle but if they'd played like that all season they wouldnt have been relegated. Think been on Sky didnt help us, some of them were putting themself in the shop window. They were tenacious every single throw in we had they didnt make it easy for us. All their throw ins we let them do what they wanted.

Think our players thought they could just turn up and Brizzle would roll over. You have to fight for everything boys, nothing is free.

On to Barnsley, 7 days break.

agree totally, and watford cant catch us before Barnsley, at worst they can only be 1 point behind , and we will still have 2 games to play...easy

if we play like we did tonight we will be up against Barnsley or earlier if watford **** up

I wasn't certain you could lay that much at the strikers' door. To me tonight just seemed to highlight the problems we've had over the last few seasons. Elmo and Brady weren't at the races, so we had no way into the box. It just seemed like nothing could get through to the strikers.

I'm just confused by tonight's performance. It just wasn't the team I've been watching for the last eight months. I have never seen us give the ball away like that.

It's done though. Like you say, onto Barnsley. I also can't shake the feeling that we'll be up by then anyway.

Brady has to be one of the worst corner or free kick takers I think I have ever seen. He has been decent at LWB this season, his set pieces are totally **** though. Consistently over hits or under hits a corner. Angled free kicks he never beats the first man - there must be someone in the starting eleven that can deliver a better ball?

I think Elmo is knackered in his defence. Would categorically say he needs a break, it's whether Bruce wants to give Rosy his wings for the last few games. I wouldn't be surprised if he did that also he gave Prozzy and Simmo a good run at the end of the game so there might well be changes up top too as we looked better without the rusty Fryatt and Gedo, who has shot his bolt for us

Let's not forget how good Rosenior is... I'm happy for him to step in at any time in honesty. Play him at Barnsley, Elmo looks tired so we might as well because he's top drawer. Bit harsh on the strikers though... can you think of any chances they spurned tonight? There was sod all service to them and nothing changed at all when Simpson and Proschwitz came on. I was hoping Proschwitz would justify his fee with one big goal tonight but he had the touch of a leper.

Bruce is probably going to have to earn his bread in our next game because there are tired legs and returning players who've been out for a while. I'd play Fathi just to push Boyd up top with Simpson or Fryatt... Gedo's awesome but looks tired. I'd maybe switch Elmo for Rosenior as well. Kind of ironic if we go up and the only Egyptian on the field is Fathi.

Agreed. Hull City fans, well 70% of them last night were a ****ing joke. They need to give there heads a ****ing bang TWICE.

Disgusted and ashamed to be one last night. Even a Bristol City fan who i spoke to after the game could not believe that we had fans booing.

Sadly i told him i can. My frustration at the result has been well buried by my Anger over many of our so called fans.

Don't think you have been watching carefully enough mate.

Brady has superb delivery. What he doesn't have is experience and the consistency that comes with that; he's only a kid. I bet you were one of the ones who said he was shyte when he first came to us and then had to eat humble pie when he produced a string of great performances this season.

To be fair, when I saw the team we put out last night, I was worried.

I'm not privy to how the players look in training, but I thought it was a mistake using a "not match fit" Fryatt and an "only 50% fit" Gedo from the start. Also, it seems every time Bruce starts a game without a holding midfielder in the line-up, he regrets it. Moving Boyd back into an unfamiliar position and dropping Fathi, was IMHO, a big mistake.

I would have started with Simpson up front and Boyd in the hole behind with Fathi sitting in the centre circle.

Having said that, the supply from Brady and Elmo las night was so poor I doubt much would have changed, but I think it would at least have improved our chances.

No blame attached to Brady, he kept going and kept trying and as he is a young kid will make mistakes. Think it needed the skipper or Brucey to tell someone else to take over. Quinny has an excellent delivery

Or, if we have enough fit midfielders, Fathi - who isn't getting played because Elmo is.

I think Chazz you more or less have it spot on, though I can't believe the team thought Brizzle would just roll over, I just think 3 games Saturday/Tuesday/Friday was too much for them to perform at their best, they looked as if they were running on empty.

Get a grip. I am a fan and I didn't boo and I was behind the team as were all the people I could hear around me. Do not lump all of us with those few idiots who let us down. The singing and chanting was there for the majority of the night but the vibes coming off the players wasn't good. Their performance can either lift or deflate the crowd, its not all the crowd's fault if we get nervous. The great support at the start of the game failed to lift the team, maybe it actually made them more nervous, have you considered that.

Agree with being on empty John. Watching the game back now. You realise how important set pieces are because you can't score wonder goals, our delivery was poor. How the **** a pro can't find big abdis head I will never know.

Yes he was, in fact glennon was chairman of the 'don't get that ****ing useless Brady back' club, who were adamant he wasn't even worth 300k.

I laughed at them all, it was clear from his first pre season game last season he was an absolutely fantastic talent with huge potential to go far in the game.

Crap game, crap performance, but that could've been the point that seals it.

Most of the players look knackered, so as much as Bruce will want to take the pressure off and the players tell us that they are not getting ahead of themselves, it is natural human reaction to at least have it on their minds.

Didn't hear any booing myself last night, but could sense some high blood pressure and nerves from the crowd and whether that transmits onto the pitch, I'm not sure, but plenty of moans and groans at (the many) misplaced passes.

Still 7 points clear, with Watford needing to win 2 and draw one at least, seems a pretty good position to be in to me. Our form would suggest we will pick up at least another point which i feel cements it. I can't see Watford winning all three on their current form.

    Fix bayonets and stay calm.
