absolute madness, how can they afford to have the ticket prices so cheap over there? http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/revealed-bayern-munich-season-ticket-1752700
Bayern’s cheap tickets are subsidised by their record-breaking commercial income which represents 55 per cent of their turnover Question answered?
Drinking in your seats. I watch the bundesliga highlights on itv4 and everytime the camera goes on the crowd they are filling their faces with food and drink in their seats. That'll bring a pretty penny into the clubs. If im drinking at the match ill have a few in town and one max in the ground cos its pricey . Same with food.
Its a false economy. THere are no direct flights from Newcastle International or Teesside Airpot to Munchen. The price of a return flight alone would probably bee cancel out any savings on Hartlepool season ticket, never mind factoring in hotel costs etc.
Was it yourself who went to uni in America? If so ive always wondered how the NFL compete financially with the Mlb and the nba when they only have 16 regular season games compared to 162 and 82
Nah I didnt go to yank land. Im in Scotland. The thing with the NFL is that the stadiums are bigger, the games last longer. And there is just much more sponsorship involved because its more popular. Yanks love a bit of violence. Also, all of the clubs get an equal share of the revenue generated by the league every year. So eventhough the New York teams will generate much more money than a less popular team like....St Louis or whatever, the money gets shared out evenly over the league so every year each team can compete.
Baseball lasts forever though and the grounds are pretty big. Even if nowhere near full 162 games is nuts.
Its bonkers. Often teams are playing 6 games a week. And its ****e, I mean I wouldnt pay money to watch rounders.
Frankfurter and bun with onions and Tomato sauce and a cold pint of ANY german beer!, mmmmm very nice.
Surely the "commercial income" argument is a bit chicken and egg? If they're paying less for season tickets or match ticket won't they have lots more money to spend on replica shirts and pasties? That Bundesliga programme is worth a watch though. Their grounds seem to have better atmosphere than most of ours. Anything to do with ticket prices maybe encouraging the working classes to keep going?
