Anti-English? Did you make any attempt at all to understand what I said? That definitely deserves a <doh>

You've got to have Jack Wilshire in the team. I would say instead of Rooney. Other than that, it looks a pretty capable side.

I've starred that for you as language filter is off.

Absolutely no need for that at all on here.

That's funny. I seem to recall you arguing with me when I said the stats from this season that made Rickie "the third best striker in Europe" (or something like that) were not significant. And yet you strongly dismissed my argument. Hypocrite.

That was showing the top scorers over thirty, and you argued with the fact it was called 'best strikers over thirty' when it was clear what the meaning was (top goalscorers).

This shows how the table would be if only goals by English players counted. I'm not arguing with what it shows, I'm just questioning what meaning can be inferred from it.

Can you explain where the hypocrisy is exactly?

The meaning, not that it will mean much to you, is that quite a few of us from Southampton are quite proud of the fact that our home town club has an above-average amount of English players in its squad. Its not essential that it does, but the fact that we have a history of an academy that produces so many good young players, many of them English, is a nice feeling to thsoe of us that are English. There is nothing at all wrong with being proud of your city or your country.
Why do you always question other posters and ask them explain things ? You are one odd individual.

You're making some pretty big assumptions about me there. It might surprise you to hear that not everyone who lives in Cardiff is Welsh!

And the personal remarks are not necessary thanks.

It might surprise you that i have been to Cardiff many times and am well aware that it is a very cosmopolitan capital city. One of my employees is an ardent Cardiff City fan and i was only congratulating him on his teams promotion the other night.
None of the people that i know in Cardiff have views like yours, they are well impressed that we have so many excellent English players and understand that many of us here in Southampton are proud of that fact - unlike you, even though you purport to be a Saints fan.

The original post is an interesting stat to many of us on here - and yet you couldnt resist questioning it. You really are an odd Saints fan.

Nowhere have I said I'm not happy we have a lot of English players so there's another assumption. You need to take a step back, re-read my posts and realise you have jumped to conclusions which do not reflect my views (as usual). I won't continue derailing this thread with this absurd debate any longer.

If you must carry on this personal crusade against me then do it via private messages please.

Not over Rooney I wouldn't. On the subs bench or instead of Carrick.

There is no significance just abit of fun. It's an interesting perspective and if it shows Saints in a good light great but I don't get excited about it as there is only one table that counts

I must be misunderstanding this table.

A couple of months ago, roughly, I saw a stat which said that not one of WBA's goals this season had been scored by an Englishman - a stat which, I understand, was only finally ended yesterday when Billy Jones scored.

So picking up 24 pts after 32 games seem slightly excessive - that would be an awful lot (well, 21) of 0-0 draws. And their one win would presumably have had to come from an Englishman on the opposition scoring an OG. Unless, as I say, I'm misunderstanding the table - or that above stat is wrong.

You're right. I thought Morrison was English until I checked so they may have included him.

It was a Rob Green own goal, apparently. Morrison is English, but plays for Scotland, so not good enough for this table. Same for some others (Fletcher, Robson-Kanu, Walters, Danny Fox!). Yes, it's nonsense.
