    CAP O'RUSHES 11/4

Al Zarooni has sent out 5 horses so far with 3 winners and 1 second . Has got the season off to a flyer and I see no reason Cap O'RUSHES cant make it 4 winners from 6

Bescot Springs Ayr 4.25 @ 8s and Iheardu Fontwell 5.25 @ 9s ew singles and a cheeky double. Good luck all on this fine sunny day. Off to hack my way round the golf course. But a bad day at the golf course still beats a good day at work.

I'm following the advice of forum stalwart and all-round good egg Sir Barney Chuckles and have backed Lieutenant Miller in the 4.15 at Newbury. Hopefully Messrs. Henderson & Ponsonby will be celebrating this afternoon.

Talking of the forum's favourite trainer, can we assume he will be sending his pride and joy to the Champion Chase and Punchestown next week? The going is currently soft/soft to heavy in places but with only some light rain due on Sunday and otherwise drying conditions, hopefully conditions will be considered suitable enough. What a joy it would be to see the Black Aeroplane again <ok>

Expect a much improved performance from STRONGLY SUGGESTED this evening at Southwell in the 7.20. Tracked this one a long time now. Also think BOLD SIR BRIAN should go well at Ayr. EW double and singles about 7s and 5s.

I was just looking at the Ayr card and Bold Sir Brian stood out to me as well on the back of a little rest following a bad fall and subsequent poor effort LTO. I thought he had an excellent e/w chance.

The bumper looks very decent as well.

I'm not betting in it but i'll be keen to see how the Bowen horse gets on on soft ground.

Still hunting some decent jump race opportuntities ...... good-ish card at Ayr and one from my tracker at Fontwell.

Fontwell 15-25 Quarl Ego. To be honest I expected him to win LTO, but he ran inexplicably poorly when sent off 2nd fav. This one time Hendo horse was missing in action from April 2009 until re-emerging in Feb this year in the charge of Mrs Lawney Hill. After a couple of tune-ups over hurdles, he was then put over fences, and finished 1.5 lengths second to Howard's Legacy, running on, and I felt he would win NTO. He didn't - finishing 3rd, 20L behind Addiction with no excuses that I can see.
Today he is upped in trip, off a similar mark, and there appears to be money for him - 9-2 best price ATM. So more in hope, maybe, than expectation - I'm on!

Ayr's 15-50 Mares handicap hurdle looks interesting. The disappointing Kentford Grey Lady unsurpringly heads the weights after failing in graded company, and for sure she will find this easier. Last year's winner Micro Mission re-opposes some 13lb lower than when winning in 2012, take off a further 5lb for the presence of the lovely Sam Drake and she is starting to look like a winner. But I'm opting for the Irish raider, Twin Plan. She is in sparkling form at the moment, and turned in her best effort when encountering good ground LTO. She won that race VERY easily, and although the handicapper is catching up, I think she is still ahead by a fair distance. 5-1 current odds looks a great bet <ok>

Morning all. Some decent racing today but don't want to be getting involved with any bets so happy enough to just watch.

MERITOCRACY in the 3.40 is interesting as the form of his 3rd on debut last Saturday looks very strong with the 4th home Vodka Time winning earlier in the week. But some good looking unraced types in there that could be anything. But I will stick him up as my "fun" NAP today. Good luck everyone <cheers>

Morning, crew. As I’ve been saying all week it’s Mr Henderson’s Lieutenant Miller across the county line, at Newbury (4.15), for me this afternoon. The long term plan is the Ascot Stakes and to get in that heat he has to go up, in the region of, at least 7 pounds on his current perch of 79. Expect a win and a nice one at that therefore as connections are in the highly unusual position of wanting a weight rise!

As Oddy says lets hope Messrs. Henderson and Ponsonby will be celebrating this afternoon.

I'm quite keen on a couple at Wexford this evening.

Back Off Mate 9/2 7.10 Wexford is an interesting runner for the excellent Arthyr Moore.

Showed ability in four runs in PTP's and novice hurdles and is been sent straight over fences.I think this is significant and the extra distance will help offset the tight track. The ground will suit also and this one will definitely improve for going over fences.I just hope Barry Cash doesn't drop him out last and leave him too much to do as he has done with a couple lately.

King Vuvuzela 11/2 e/w 6.40 Wexford is also worth a punt.

Showed promise in bumpers and novice hurdles, winning a couple, before going off the boil.He entered h'cap hurdles off 123 and runs off 105 tonight after three runs out the back in decent novice 'chases and a fair effort in fourth in a better event than this over Easter.I think he is potentially well h'capped and can step up on that first effort in open company.I'm going to play e/w since there are 16 runners and fourth place. Also luck in running can be crucial around these tight tracks.Don't Back Down is feared most after finally clicking LTO.

    GL everyone having a punt.

morning all-- Callisto Moon 8/1 18 50 Southwell this evevening-- looks plotted up ,had a blow out over too far and higher grade/wrong ground- about ten days ago-- same pattern as last year--dropping back to 2 miles on good ground, sharp track, got brendan p to take a bit more weight off- brings him to a very winnable mark---i do notce that trainer has two at fontwell with stable jockeyon as well, Supermightyfine 4 35 making handicap debut in calmer waters than the races he has been running in, and Regal Brook in the 5 35 --first time cheekpieces-- this stable are not adverse to having big price winners or multiple winners-- they are in form-- just caught my eye--but its the one at Southwell that i think has the proven form.
