Just thought I'd ask people's views on tonight's crowd reaction SHOULD we win. I've noticed a few people disappointed with the wolves result because it could potentially mean automatic promotion will be officially achieved away from the KC. (potentially saturday or next week before barnsley) Therefore if we win, how do you expect the players and the fans to react or how would you like them to react. I'm guessing a pitch invasion would be tempting fate but will celebrating as if we are officially up (99% sure) be too hard to resist?
I'm thinking the Cardiff game might be a good time to celebrate at the end with both city and Cardiff fans shaking hands and congratulating each other at the end, would be a nice scene and do a lot to dispel the stupid notion that football fans are a bunch of lawless savages
On the plus side, at least the celebrations won't be ballsed up by the dj belting out naff sing a longs and killing the natural reaction like happened the other year at the KC and also at Wembley.
There will be a pitch invasion tonight I reckon if we win, were up now so a win tonight will cement it
My thoughts exactly. I don't see how we can celebrate tonight because there is still that mathematical chance we don't go up. Until the fat lady sings, hopefully at about 5-50pm tomorrow, then keep the celebrations on hold.
I really hope there is no pitch invasion, we would be the laughing stock of the world if we didn't go up. I know it would take a miracle for us not too if we win but stranger things have happened in football
The troll has spoken - if you think/do the exact opposite of everything he writes, you'll be OK. There should be no counting of chickens.
There should be no celebration (other than celebrating 3 points hopefully) this evening. Until anything is mathematically certain it is daft to hold any sort of celebration, it could ultimately come back to haunt us and make us look incredibly foolish. Hopefully there'll be some sort of celebration in the away end at Oakwell and at the KC 2 weeks tomorrow when promotion is hopefully confirmed.
I reckon it'll feel like when we beat Watford in the play off semi, pue elation, feel like you're almost there, jsut that one last hurdle to get over
I wouldn't be surprised if someone tries it on and as soon as one person gets on that will become a full pitch invasion but it's risky because it could still go tits up for us and everyone would want us to fail after seeing it. This is a very good thread by the way, I've been wondering this myself. The likelihood is that if we win tonight we'll be promoted before we next play so we'll be robbed of a proper moment to celebrate it together when it's officially announced. It'll be really strange looking at BBC's live scores and finding out we're promoted that way.
Win tonight and we are there. IMO, i dont see Watford passing our 77 points nevermind 80pts. Steve Bruce is attending the Forest Barnsley game on saturday. I can see him getting alot of SSN attention from 5pm. Burnsy is doing the Fans Forum from the KC after 5pm IF we are up apparantly. Extended fans forum.
What's the point of Burnsy doing it from the KC when we're not playing to have fans there naturally and Bruce is going to be out of town? Send him to an a game with the rest of the BBC crew and he can do it from where ever it is they're broadcasting from.
Thats what he said on his show this morning. IF City are up then saturday night is Burns night. Ring sportstalk and ask them that question tonight.
It would seem very odd to broadcast from an empty football stadium, when he's got a perfectly good studio in Queens Gardens. I think you might have got that wrong Tickles, I can't see any reason why they'd do if from the KC.
he wants to do it from the hop pole midnight on Saturday if we went up, he'l get a right good sing song there
