While I am not in favour of positive discrimination, there is a lack of black managers compared to the number of black players - that can't be because they all are not good enough surely????

Really daft thing for DJ to say...and I'm not being PC.
How can he say they're not good enough if they're not given jobs?
    Chicken and egg.
I go back far enough when there were very few black players, and they were
almost fast running forwards. It was said that they didn't like tackling and went lost
when it got muddy and cold!<doh>

The problem is there are too many managers and not enough clubs in general and what they have been saying is that when the training courses come along most who attend are white. I think most people going for coaching badges are ex footballers and you can say that there are more black players playing currently than there was say 20-30 years ago when the now current managers were playing so maybe 20/30 years in teh future when the current players have retired there might be more Black managers.

I'm sure next it will be there arent any women managers in the Premier league or many Asian managers. I guess peole will always try to find something to moan about.

I am not saying racism doesn't exist in football, but I firmly believe it does NOT exist in a discrimination sense. In mindless name calling then yes, but our countrie homes some of the richest black athletes in the world. His race aside, christopher samba is utter garbage and not worth 100k a week at all, yet can you say he has been discriminated against. Look how many black pundits we have in the game, DJ himself, Jason Roberts, Dion Dublin, Dwight Yorke, the list goes on. Sometimes they just go into different jobs.

As for the managerial side, you could argue that there are more foreign managers than home nation ones in the top flight, but no one is talking about them being discriminated against.

Until someone publishes a regular report showing how many black people went for the job role, and didnt get it time and time again, we can't say anything is based on race as we don't know the figures.

The Rooney Rule is offensive, and puts people in jobs that don't necassarily deserve it. This world should be fighting for equality, not alter the balance of superiority the other way.
