Well at least you can still run around and play a bit, I've got no chance well and truly retired. I'm glad my kid is a good player so that I can watch him and enjoy that.
I probably should consider retiring snce my legs went a couple of years back and my fitness is appalling (gained about three stone in last couple of years too) but I've got no intention of quitting, I've just moved backwards instead. Used to play on the wing or upfront at eleven a side and roam about a hell of lot at at five-eight a side, always used to be fairly quick too, but tend to stick in defence now. Still not slow but certainly not as fast or fit as I used to be (who would be after gaining three stone )
Started to go down hill when I snapped the tendons in my ankles. Three months out at first but after going back the slightest know meant a month out again. This went on for about four years and its only the last eight to ten months its felt comfortable again. Too much missed time resulted in bad fitness and inevitably less running and then weight gain. I'm too lazy to do anything about it! Snapping the arm last years didn't help either, that was eight weeks out
