Right. Obviously he gets a lot of air time on here, but i think an important point needs to be made about Taarabt. If i was Fernandes, the first thing i would do would be to make sure everything in my power was done to keep him. Yes he is frustrating and I personally am not even his biggest fan, but we know for a fact that he will absolutely destroy the NPC. He is pretty much guaranteed to weigh in with 13+ goals and multiple assists and his wages aren't astronomical like others. Given our defence looks like it might be a strong point for us next season ( Green, Bosingwa, Onuoha, Traore Hopefully Samba all likely to stay) then having someone who is going to score that many goals is priceless. Assuming the defenders can play up to their reputations, which they should given its the 2nd tier, then really all we need to do is stick the ball in the net on a relatively consistant basis, And Taarabt will give us that, as well as providing opportunities for others. Shipping out someone whose previously won the Player of the Year award in the Division we're going into is completely mindless and surely anyone saying otherwise is letting their personal opinions on Adel get in the way of reality. Jenas Diakite Mackie Adel Hoilett DJ/Bothroyd Honestly if we have that midfield/ Attack along with the defenders named above then all should be fine, DJ and Bothroyd will be aiming for 10+ goals each and as ive said we know what adel can do in this division So, for me, keeping Adel is the key to promotion. If he kicks up a fuss and insists on leaving (which could well happen) then thats a different matter, although i cant see Prem clubs wanting him. But again, to go out of our way to get rid of him, like some on here have suggested is prized idiocy. P.s. Before anyone makes the obvious comment that Tarrabt wont give a toss and wont give 100%, Can i remind you who our manager is, arguably the best man manager/ motivator in english football. I have no doubts he will be able to get Adel committed completely much like Warnock did, because Harry like Neil will surely relise that Taarabt is his ticket back to the PL. all thoughts welcome.
So lets get this right shall we. You are basing our whole promotion campaign on what a player did nearly 3 season ago when he was younger, fitter ,more keen and the centre of attention as well as being the best player in our team (and the league then)? Completely ignoring the incredible flop he has been for the past 2 seasons, his weight flutuation, mood swings, wanting out and the fact that he is now longer a "newbie" to the divisions; and every player along with every supporter is totally aware of what he does and how to mark him out of a game? Is that correct? I'm honestly not sure if you created a new account just for this wind up or not? If not then i appolgise. Do you really think HR wants him? Do you think he wants to get relegated a go play in lower divisions? Do you think he'll have anywhere near the impact he had previously? Do you think..you know what, I aint going to bother. Sorry i took this seriously; good luck if thats what you believe mate; just dont bet your house on it happening eh?
In all honesty, is there any club out there that would buy Adel? We've had fleeting glimpses of his 'genius' this season but he has been a major disappointment along with many others. We need a new approach next season and I'll be surprised if he's anywhere near as good as he was in our promotion season or given as much leeway as Warnock gave him. I get the feeling Harry just doesn't trust him and that's the main issue...
I dont think Adel has been any bigger or lesser a flop than anyone in our doomed premiership campaigns. He is at best a match winner and at worst a lazy bastard. I for one would play him week in week out as I believe he has a talent beyond any qpr player I have ever witnessed. I believe that he will leave in the summer anyway and the taarabt thread will become irrelevant. We didnt pay much money compared to the real flops who came with a reputation, and he has forged his reputation whilst with us. Hoillet was an agreed payment and he has been ****e along with granero, park, and dare I say it....samba. Football is all based on opinions and if harry stays (which I hope he does) then im sure he will make the correct decisions. We were buggered as soon as hughes took over, some could see that, others couldnt. Tony being one of the latter. It has been a very harsh learning curve suffered by us the fans and unfortunately a lot of our squad couldnt care less about relegation as they will soon find new clubs whilst we will be visiting the grounds we thought we had finally escaped!
Excellent post ... I would love Adel Taarabt to stay and if/when he leaves the threads from the blind ! Will take on a tone around why couldn't he do that for us week in week out He is a European player of course and his destiny will to play for a giant He cares for QPR no doubt but I sense we may see his last game against Liverpool away ... He remains the best footballer I have seen since Zidane and could play for any team abroad **** English football its miles off and will wont beat the Spainish , French and German games at the moment Add in the Russian and Italian leagues what you have is a load of hype here and a brainwashed audience Taarabt has been a wonderful servant for QPR .. The flair Christ knows what brand Harold will build if he stays ... Dinosaur football
Personally, I think the guy is one of the biggest dick-heads going ................... but my thoughts are, like yours, geared to next season and truth be known, we could certainly do with his football nous cause that is all he has .............. upstairs, there is standing room only for the packed sawdust between the ears, poor bugger.
Not on here much at moment But next season is next season...let us see what hand we are given/acquire/make for ourself then If someone came in with 10 mill for Adel, I would jump at it....if no one comes in...then so be it. Let us just wait and see and not rot our brains with whatevers. Main focus is Saturday, lets just win that one...and see what Monday brings
Peronally I agree with most of what bob said. except the part about being the most talented, but that's just my opinion. Reading other boards it seems that he is indeed the greatest thing since sliced bread but is hampered by those around him that make him look bad..? Make you wonder how Townsend and remy can look like absolute class and deliver at every given chance with all those bad players around them eh? Cant be bothered repeating the same stuff over. I think he's had 2 seasons to astound us and he hasn't. Much like a lot of our new "supposed" superstar imports. Nopt one person can question that, But im sure some will !!
The taarabt that came off the bench against west ham, understood the urgency, looked sharp, saw passes that no one else did and scored a stunner is the taarabt we need - consistently. Work out how to engineer that on a consistent basis and you have the world class player he is capable of being.
I agree with your comments about Adel! But the problem for me is that I can both see PL and top foreign Clubs wanting him, and from the restricted playing time Harry has given him, I am far from sure Harry thinks Adel is our ticket back to the PL (if we happen to go down!) I think Harry has f'kked up with Adel - he should be playing about all the time, if he had we would have a much better chance of staying up. I also have some doubt about Betty's ability to get 10 + goals in the Championship. he's not scored many for some time, even down there on loan earlier this season.
I can only see a foreign club offering a few mill for Adel and he'll be off. Betty ain't good enough. Simple. We can do waay better.
I hope Adel goes so we can stop having threads about him...and the blinkered amongst can stop trotting out the same lines over and over again Next year Hinges on goals, we have shown we can defend but we lack, at the other end of the pitch or haven't been able to strike the right balance.
Hahaha this is laughable... Clearly I'm not basing our whole promotion race on Adel, all I said was that he's a key component if we can keep him.... I've never seen a post with more arbitrary points made in it than yours mate.. Firstly how Is the fact that he's 2 years older, thus more mature and closer to his 'Prime' an issue ????... I don't dispute he hasn't been great in the PL but by that policy we should get rid of all of them, but realistically that can't happen, so we need to embrace the fact that some of the players are going to stick around and play to their strengths I would love to hear your theory on how to mark him out of a game, as you claim every fan knows how to... Surely if that was the case than towards the end of the season when we went up managers would have got wise to him, and as you say, marked him out of the games, but I seem to remember him scoring crucial goals towards the end of the season for example against Barnsley, not to to mention the one that won us promotion against Watford The worst thing is fickle people like you will be singing his praises and cheering his name if he does start firing for us next season, as I'm sure you did when he was tearing up the championship... So pathetic. Take your head out of your arse mate.

I'm trying to keep my mouth/keyboard shut on Harold until the end of the season, but if this was really true would we be in the position we are? Or has he just had an off six months? Myth.
