For Friday night. Good to see we're doing a bit to fill the stands finally. Bit annoying for students with season tickets (like me). Also annoying considering I just spent £18 buying my sister a ticket last week as well. Oh well.
Considering the turn-out expected by Brizzle, they could give away half the north stand and still have plenty left over.
Are we going to fill the place or what? The away crowd shouldn't matter. This is the game to seal promotion (if we win, we'll be up before we play again), we should be able to sell the ground out ourselves.
Tickets for the North aren't allowed to go on general sale, so they're possibly just giving away North tickets to students and the Hull Boys League?
If there are empty seats, give them away. It'll pay off in the end. If it's done right, people will get the bug for an area and feel it's worth paying to sit there on another day. If not, nothing's lost anyway.
What has changed since it was allowed before? I'm sure we used to sell tickets in the North in both the PL and FLC.
We can't sell tickets for the North Stand ? Am I missing something ? I'm getting the feeling the ground will be far from full on friday
So we can't sell tickets for the North Stand but we can give them away ? Or are the giveaway tickets elsewhere ? 50 Brizzle fans in the North Stand and a vast expanse of emptyness ? What are we going to do next season with the North Stand ? What the **** is wrong with Humberside Police ?
This is a **** state of affairs. A whole empty stand apart from a few Bristol City fans & a handful of flags, will just show us up on telly when the cameras point at it. Every other team in the division would have a near full ground at this point, but not City. We've gone backwards. The night match against Swansea in October 2003, when we could've had an even greater crowd than what it was, & where we had the chance of introducing a whole load of new fans to Hull City, but the coppers stopped it, all for a taxi load of Swansea fans sitting in one section. Then as we went up through the division they got their act together (well got better) and now we've gone full circle. Something has to be done about policing, stewarding and ticket prices at the KC, this can't go on. They're making us look tinpot.
I brought this up the other day when it was announced that only 2,200 tickets had been allocated to the Cardiff fans in the North stand. Just couldn't understand why. http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/205722-Just-been-announced
according to Nick Thompson on Humberside last night he said with the game being on Tv they were expecting between 18,000 to 20,000
That is all we have to give them. Ideally we would then fill the rest of the stand. But for some reason we can't do that in our iconic, state of the art, Super Stadium. Yet they can at other new stadiums like,Brighton, Swansea and even Reading. Of course apart from the design faults of our stadium those others don't have to deal with Humberside Police or the type ofcouncil jobsworths that we have on the SAG.
The Safety Advisory Group(which is basically the police) have decided that we can't put North Stand seats on general sale. That's why the only time we had home fans in there this season, is when a few hundred were given to school kids. I don't know what's changed and there's no way we're going to leave half the stand left empty if we're in the Premier League. Maybe we didn't need them, so didn't really bother, but we'll ramp up the pressure again for next season.
