    Sunderland v Man U
    Man U v City
    Stoke v Man U
    West Ham v Man U
    Man U v Aston Villa
    Arsenal v Man U
    Man U v Chelsea
    Man U v Swansea

EIGHT games in a row :emoticon-0112-wonde

They'll no doubt put them on last day of the season as well to make it nine a row. I'm not sure how that is justifiable, unfair to matchgoing United fans and also the viewers. I'm not sure I really signed up to pay for MUTV. Of course we know of Sky's affiliation with Man U but it's going way OTT. On Sky alone it's 20 games, factor in ESPN games and the figure is probably closer to 30. Wouldn't happen to any other club, more TV money "fairly earned".

It's justified by the fact that more people watch Utd games than any other.

    More viewers = more money!

Do you seriously think Murdoch and co give a flying **** about what Chelsea fans think is 'fair'? <laugh>

I've never bought into sky tv. I have seen it at different friend's homes and was surprised to see advertising! I thought wait a moment my mates are paying to watch adverts. More insidiously none really had noticed, and and blithely accepted the situation. I thought that's a mug's game. In recent times more friends have chucked sky than new ones take it up. I'd advise people with it to think about if they are getting value for their money. Bearsonally I'd have have no qualms paying for a channel that had no advertising on it.

I am close to finishing it with Sky, the games have been atrocious this season. TV rights have ruined the game for fans.

Anyway the channel will show what they consider the most lucrative, which means being able to charge companies more money to advertise during their shows as the numbers of viewers increase. This means if a team like Man U are at the top, winning games, they will attract the 'floating' plastic fans. It happens to all successful clubs. You can't moan at sky for their scheduling, no one forced anyone to buy their product. I think sky is awful and don't subscribe, it's my choice. The premier league wants to sell exclusive TV rights, I can not do anything about that. I agree a public server not backed by advertising revenue should not try to out bid a private company who can pack their shows with adverts and charge to view.

Didn't they have a run of 30-odd televised games earlier in the season?

The more viewers = more money argument is extremely circular. It's a situation that needs to be dealt with, but clearly won't be.
The connection between Sky and Man Utd goes back to when the former had substantial shares in the latter.

A friend got sky when it nabbed the cricket. His passion for the game overruled his brain. To him for the first time there was cricket on TV everyday, the adverts filled in the bits between overs. He could ignore the adverts, just as he ignored what always happened between overs. For him the service was value for money.

I don't think sky is is immoral for charging and showing adverts. I just think it doesn't represent value for me.

Thousands of empty seats each game because they're all sat at home like you eh tourist. Half those that do go are on the Far East Beatles and ManU Bus Tours.

The is a rough finite number of fans for each team who will follow a team no matter what or for how much. They are not what is called neutral fans, they have no interest in watching any game not involving their team. Some people however does genuinely like to watch any footie match, a smallish group. Then you gets the ones who aren't fans per say of football, but of reflected glory and have a strong urge to join the herd (a basic human trait, humans are pack animals). This last group is the largest and therefore lucrative.

That was in the FA Cup, which kind of proves what I was about to say about it not being a problem specific to Sky. Ideally there are tonnes of things that could be changed to make things fairer and more competitive in football but I'm tired of getting annoyed at them these days, there's no reason to suggest it could ever change.

The worst thing about it is they are one of the most boring teams in Europe to watch.

I don't give a **** what they show as long as they advertise it correctly. Call it MUTV so customers know what they are playing for.

United have more "fans" hence more viewers but lets not pretend people (generally speaking) actually want to watch them.
