  1. £8m is still a little high but I guess thats the British/Premier League player tax!

    Experience of what?

173 games for Stockport County in League 1 and 2 from 2003 to 2008.

215 games for Swansea City in League 1, The Championship and 2 season in the Premier League.

Great experience of getting promotion from lower league's sure. But qualifying for Europe? Cup runs? Wembley finals? Playing in Europe? Playing over 50 games a season?

Plus I still see what he said about Suarez as a deal breaker.

    -

German media are reporting that Andre Schurrle will join Chelsea this summer.

    Leading his country to what?

Ok, I will admit that that is good experience, even if it has not contained a tournament.

But compare Williams at 28 to Coutinho at 20. I know they are completely different players. But Coutinho has already played in the Brazilian League, Italy League for Inter Milan, the Spanish League on Loan at Espanol, in the Champions League and once for Brazil. This also comes with great life experience. This experience shows in Coutinho's game.

Completely agree with you. Don't get me wrong - I really don't want Williams here as there are better players available.

We need players who have experience playing for big clubs and on the big stage - hence why I much rather go for Alderweirald or Sakho.

I think a center back set of Agger, Alderweirald, Skrtel and Kelly, with Wisdom as extra back up could be as good as any in the League.

I don't know about that honestly. kelly is a big ask seeing he's never played there in the top flight, the new boy we were linked with is an unknown at this level and skertl and agger as leaky too.

anyway i can clarify about poulsen and knochesky... kicked out or ran at the first chance. they didn't FIGHT they sat back took wages and then got out quick. simply put I truly believe ashely puking Williams is not a saviour of anything but will take any big deal offered just like sigurdsson and then mouth all they want as they bench warm or whatever.

If we sign him we're headed for bottom half.

  9. Alderweirald is meant to be a right footed Agger, if true then that is not what we need. We need a new Sami Hyypia!

Kelly does well in CB for the England u21's. Lets see how he does at the u21 Euro's.

Kelly is strong, quick, physical, good in a tackle and in the air and good on the ball.

  11. I think Kelly (and Wisdom) has the attributes to be a quality CB but only time (and chances) will tell subject to his body of course.

Think the Williams hate is a little too far.

He's a decent player. It's natural he's linked to us.

The disappointing thing wouldn't be Williams himself but the fact that we didn't look further afield - which isn't anything to do with his merits as a player.

He certainly wouldn't be as bad as some of the centre backs wee seen come and go. He'd certainly improve on Coates - a cheaper foreign signing which hasn't worked out.

Not saying I'd sign him - I'd rather have Dede or Alderweirele. But a little perspective.

i don't hate him... he's just ashley puking williams, i will refer to him as such as he's not good enough. its anger at the club not him. he's got a right to his payday but why do we have to give it to him.... the puker and his swansea-centric manager can chuff off the day he arrives IMO.

I'd rather grind my teeth hearing him on about how good arsenal are in the top 4 when he signs there knowing the inevitable there than hear we have to put up with this.

like i said, if we are about signings like this be ready for lower than 10th in the future.
