Global HQ for work is in Boston - an e-mail came round from one of the big bosses this afternoon saying that the company was lucky in that there were none of the staff hurt in the explosions. Officially move into my new place on Saturday, but as I already have the keys I've been moving some of the stuff that's easier to move - CDs, DVDs, books and my bicycle are already there. The plan this evening is to go through my paperwork and throw away anything that isn't needed. Depending what it is, some may end up in the shredding bin at work tomorrow. I won't be able to do anything tomorrow evening as I'm at jerzeypie's school for an evening all about applying for Uni and the finances while he's there and other related information.
Evening all, what a day, haven't stopped since 8.00am until now. Here, there and everywhere, sounds like a song, collected Mme's car from garage, went to town 25 miles away to haggle over new tyre prices, the French don't seem to know yet that if they want sales they have to be flexible about their prices. Then new windscreen wipers for it and an appointment made for it's retest. That was after a trip to the far field to open up the salad protection tent as temperatures reached 31C today. That was this morning and this afternoon dashed off in opposite direction another 25 miles, to get a new safety valve for the immersion heater. You must by law have them fitted here and the existing one was shot. Get back, grovel around under heater to fit it. Why do I hate plumbing so much? It's finding that an in and out device has two different size nuts, so two different size spanners. Checked for leaks, must be getting better as there weren't any. Back down the far field to shut up the anti deer device and now time for a glass or two and something to eat.
Good luck with the move Barry and with Pie's Uni app - don't forget in all the hubbub to post your WPL predictions
Potatoes, rocket and radishes planted or sown...spring must finally have got here. Editing of the second Winfrith book, 'The Wide Embrace', is almost done now...three chapters to go!
Should be ready for Xmas then..... Still too cold here at the moment for sowing - summer came and went on Monday.& there is still snow on some roads. I'm ready and poised with radish & spring onion seeds though.....
I see the FA has not only conspired to completely sell out the FA Cup to TV by making it a 5.15 kick-off on the grounds that more "football fans" will be able to watch...but...and this is the best one...it is now the established kick-off time after the 2012 final! I am sure that for all the years I have watched it, it has been a 3.00 kick-off! They also brushed off the lack of return trains to the NW because very few fans travelled by train and they have laid on extra coaches. Just how out of touch can a national body get from it's customers?
Everything possible has been done to devalue the FA Cup. It does not generate the income that comes from European cups, so let's push it to one side seems to be the message.

Sun's out...well it was when I started typing this sentence! Done a couple of hours editing...off to the Rose Bowl in a bit to see Hampshire give Loughborough students a bit of a cricket lesson. I have a membership this year, so feel more inclined just to pop down for an hour or two instead of feeling I have to be there all day.
Theo - don't know if you have people to proof read your book for you but would be happy to do so if you need it - just PM me if you do - cheers Leo
