Short and sweet.

    2.55 Newmarket ENAITCH 20/1 (NB)

Mick Channon doesn't **** about. He throws in this once-raced daughter of New Approach who is bred to both improve for todays distance (out of a mare by Selkirk) and to improve as a 3 year old. It is significant Channon goes straight in here and Ghurair is probably the craziest priced favourite I have seen for a while. The description was that she was 'one paced' but she came home beautifully- green as grass and the bird had already flown yet she was only beaten 5L and was 10L <yikes> clear of the rest. Will relish the 10f here.

She shaped nicely over the 1m in heavy ground and was not given a hard time. The owners do well at this meeting.

EDIT: This is a filly, not a colt!

    4.05 Newmarket TORONADO 8/11 (NAP)

Will improve for the step up to 1m but as you know I expect him to improver even further beyond that and go very close in The Derby. Powerful High Chapparal colt who is the best juvenile I have seen from that sire. I think he has serious potential and whilst he doesn't look flashy or like a cruiser, when he hits top gear he stays in top gear. We will have to see if he is up to that sort of a standard.

    Newmarket

    HILLSTAR NAP
Mentioned this guy on the Derby thread a couple of weeks back. Runs off a mark of 83 and is a potential Derby runner for the yard. They think a lot of him at home I'm told and expect that he should piss his race tomorrow.

Greatwood e/w in that 2.55 race

Also I agree that Toronado should be too good for these one would hope.

    Connectivity 14/1 e/w

Always a big price and always runs a competent race. Will win off this mark eventually and the way he stayed on LTO makes me think the Cheltenham hill will play to his strengths.

Tornado looks the one to beat, probably won't be playing at that price though

My last betting day until the beginning of next seasons racing at Cheltenham, its time to have a much deserved break, and regroup and learn from the flat season.

Good day out yesterday, and more of the same today. Henderson will surely have a few winners and I think Sam Winner could improve Paul Nicholls' week too.

There is no way you'll hold it through the whole flat season without having a wager Nass:biggrin:

I will go whenever I am told to go. Mrs NB spent yesterday hobnobbing with the fraternity at Cheltenham whilst I was getting drunk with the mere mortals that pay to go racing!!! She refused to ask Robert WC to jock SWC off Long Run, something about that not being a professional question. Haven't spoken to her since <laugh>

Bumped into Barry Geraghty yesterday, again in the same manner as my SWC incident, it was a literal bump into too. Nice chap apologised for not looking where he was going.

So it’s not just on the racetrack where the Gerraghty lad takes the wrong course then! He also does it when promenading amongst the punters.

Nass, old boy, if I was you I’d delay your ‘sabbatical’ by a day and get on Lieutenant Miller tomorrow across the county line at Newbury. Plus, if you go to Royal Ascot on the Tuesday you can follow that up when he contests the old Ascot Stakes. Also, if Mr Henderson sends West Wizard on the long journey North tomorrow don’t miss that one in the ‘lucky last’ up at Ayr.

Looking forward with great interest to the Craven today, people, but it’s a ‘no bet’ one for me again and the prediction that we will get some megamunguos priced winners at both Newmarket and Cheltenham. At the former you’ve got 68% of the runners not fit and out for a mere ‘pipe opener’ and at the latter you’ve got 59% of the beasts engaged ‘over the top’ after a busy term. Oh to be a bookie chappie today.

    Good luck pilgrims!

Blimey, who says there isn't money in other peoples rubbish? One Chance in the first at Newmarket is owned by Recycled Products Ltd who paid a mere 120 grand for the horse at the sales.

Perhaps they will recoup a bit of that cash by plunging on the filly at a price of 25/1?

This looks a really nice maiden on paper, shall watch it back later.

    Right, tally ho!!

I’m surprised that no wag has been on predicting that Bonfire will light up the card at Newmarket or that alternatively he will burn off the opposition. In all seriousness though quotes of 7/4 re this one look very short.

Well he is short Barney - short of a couple of items since last year, hoping to calm him down a bit I expect.

It'd have the opposite effect on me <laugh>

West Wizard ain’t been declared. Eyecatching in fact to note that at the 5 day stage Mr Henderson had 14 entered at Ayr tomorrow and he has withdrawn each and every one! The ground has changed to Soft, Heavy in places and it is going to take some getting hence the reason why many of Ayr’s races tomorrow have cut up and only one has attracted double figures.
