OK the last few weeks we've stuttered and spluttered to get over the finish line, and we're still not quite there. Reminiscent in a way of Man Utd in the years before they eventually won their first Prem League title in 1992/3. When all around them - pundits and supporters were cacking themselves, I should imagine that Fergie kept reminding his players to be patient, ignore the **** flying about and keep doing what they were doing and they would get their reward. Seem to remember it was one Bruce. S. that scored a header v Sheff Weds that got the points which eventually sealed the title. Judging by the record of Bruce . S. as both a player and a manager, his current charges will be receiving bucket loads of calming wisdomand experience as we progress towards the promotion. So, to those on here and other boards that are flapping, and there are many, relax, calm down and stop being so silly.
I think out of the 24 current Championship managers I wouldnt want anyone but Brucey to take us over the line!! It'll happen, if we win on friday Watford have to win twice before we even play again, i can see them drawing 1 of those at very least so friday we may as well celebrate if we get the win!!!
SB is an ugly bastard so he must be good with words to "get over the line"with his missus. Hang on was he well paid at Man U
Who says he still does? Alex was born when Steve was 23, he might not have had the repeatedly broken nose back then, and he would have been in good shape back then.
Don't be silly, I didn't say I'd just got back did I? I've been back all day, out the back counting my chickens. Some bastard nicked three of them last night. Looked like there'd be a fox in the coop, or was it a Wolf? Only got four left.
Is that a typo Ricardo? Should be Steve was born when Alex was 23? Otherwise Bruce (Snr) is looking remarkably sprightly for a 94 year old, especially after what his daughters been up to
No, Steve is the older Bruce (born in 1960), and was 23 when his son Alex was born (1984, but before Steve's birthday). Therefore Alex was born when Steve was 23.
I was completely flummoxed for a bit by Arnold's maths - but I've worked out now that he seems to be thinking of Alex FERGUSON!
Just got up and tried to read this thread. Am going back to bed, will have another go at starting the day later.
Could not agree more with you. Well said ^^^ this. IMO, Watford will not beat the points total we have now = 77 points. Far too many knee jerkers - flappers and hissy fitters for my liking. Thats all.
My champagne will be on ice from the moment I get home on friday night. Ready to crack open @ 5pm saturday.
