http://www.skysports.com/story/0,,11685_6947345,00.html I want Jones to stay and be backed by the Board as he has done a magnificent job in tough circumstances. But it might be out of our hands if he fancies a move... The West Ham fans I know don't really fancy him though, I do believe Jones would take their team up first time however. They like their attacking football there as well. What do you guys think?
Could be quite a possible and worthwhile move for him. Could see it happening. And so begins silly season
When, in the last 3 years, hasn't DJ been a target for a manager-less club? I can't see this happening but would wish him well if it did come off. I suppose we'd be in for Jose then? ....Like Drew says, welcome to the silly season
have to be brutally honest I want Jones to stay. Granted he needs to get into the players heads a bit more and inject a bit of passion but who else is there? one more season, a new squad, a bit of backing and i'm sure we'll be singing his praises this time next year. I'll be a little annoyed if he goes to West Ham.
Rumour has it (Wales Online admittedly) that Martin O'Neill has met with the Malaysians... As I said I want Jones to stay, but if he did leave what a signing that would be!
West Ham make Jones No 1 target Good news for us Canaries Means either the tabloids were talking bollocks (quite likely) or our board have told West Ham to **** off - Lambert is staying put
In my opinion the time is right for Dave Jones to move on. He's been a good servant to the club, helping us to our highest league finish in many years and taking us to an FA Cup final along the way. As I am typing this it seems all the more crazy that I'd rather him leave, but I just feel that the club needs a fresh approach and some new ideas going forward. As for the negativity of certain sections of our fans towards DJ; you are being completely ridiculous! Although we are still in the Championship we are miles ahead of where we were as a club when he took over. He is far from perfect, but he's done a good job on the whole and IF he leaves he should leave with our gratitude and good wishes for the future.
I am inclined to agree. Although he took Wolves up to the PL a few season ago I think he has taken Cardiff as far as he can. He's a decent guy and manager but Bluebirds need a 'fresh face' to try and take the next step.
Jones leaving is one step ahead & two steps back , but all in all I think it's time for him to go , mostly for his sake . If he does go , you guys are f^%ked worse than you already are . It will take a long time to get back to where he had you almost every season . Hard times follow his departure IMO but I do hope I'm wrong . P'S. I we get promoted , Cardiff might take over any financial reprecussions stemming from further QPR wrong doings uncovered seeing you finished 4th .
I'm not really convinced that we are "f^%ked" in either case, Crackerjack. Yes, there is a large degree of rebuilding to do and maybe we'll have to just accept that next season will be about consolidation rather than challenging for promotion, but that's not so bad. The Championship is a great division to be in and we've sold a record amount of season tickets! I imagine you were inferring that we'd struggle due to the financial situation but I am quite optimistic about that myself. Our wage bill is almost certainly a lesser burden than it has been for a few years (considering we have few players left!) and I'd be willing to bet our turnover for this season has increased substantially (record season ticket sales, increased merchandise sales through the Bellamy factor). Of course the debt to Langston/Sam still hangs over the club, but it is unsecured debt and I think the Malaysians are playing the situation quite well, but it remains to be seen!
I'm sure many people though Blackpool were doomed when Simon Grayson, the man who got them promoted and kept them afloat in the Championship, left for Leeds. However, look at what happened next. Jones leaving could be a very bad thing for us (look at Sheff Utd & Preston) but if we make the right choice on a replacement, it could be a brilliant thing too.
Don't see this happening, to be honest! West Ham would be a nightmare to go to for DJ!........... please log in to view this image
You never know Thai. With PL yet to sign a new contract, it might be worth us putting a call in to Delia
H BUT..........................if you could tempt him away from Carrow Road, without question he would take you to the promised land. Alas, very few young managers of his calibre come along. Now maybe Martin O'Neill? (another Norwich legend)
That's a big BUT Thai...for any club. PL would be a fool to walk away from what he's achieved at CR. As for DJ, love him or hate him, while he's still the manager, any speculation about his replacement is disrespectful to him and the club...just my opinion, others may differ.
