Still blowing a gale but stopped the torrential rain long enough to get the dogs walked!(at a rapid pace)

when working in Basle in the sheetmetal shop, (which was run by an irish lad called O` Malley) There was a false wall and room for 6 bunks behind;) We used to work like demons for the first 9 hours ,drink the next 3 , finish the shift at 7am goto the airport bar for a few more ,catch the 9am bus back to digs, getting lots of dirty looks from the swiss bus riding community for being sozzled at 9am!!!

    Evening All,

Back from my holiday and thinking about arranging something for later in the year. It actually feels quite fresh up here at 24C but since we went off nearly two weeks ago there has not been a drop of rain. The grass that I cut just before we left is now crisp and brown with just the seed heads poking up.:emoticon-0103-cool:

Very glad to see that my friend Bernard has been restored to full health. He went into hospital with one of those things that men suffer from, but they were not sure if they would find something worse when they opened him up. He came back just before we departed with tubes still inserted, but they have been removed and he has been told that he is in the all clear.

I have popped in from time to time to see if anything was happening, but came to the conclusion that it was fairly quiet. I think the Steptoes were trying a cheeky bid for Danny, it will be interesting to see if they come back with something about double that. As for Brighton, can we expect more attempted raids now that they have our talent spotter?

Reading the latest words from Mr.B he is improving his interview technique, but I do hope he comes up with something positive before too long. <doh>

Looks as if there is plenty of reading to do. Happy Birthday to Mrs. W_Y for tomorrow.:emoticon-0177-toivo

Been a lovely day here - not as hot as for you but we took the granddaughter to the seaside for the first time - to Tenby and she loved it

Evening all - Thanks for the best wishes for Mrs W_Y's birthday, poor thing has a rotten cold as well! She is just making a Pavlova to take into work tomorrow..

Just had a look on 606 and poor cosmic has been impostered by a Notts Florist fan...that's one thing to keep an eye on here. I am fine with WUM's and having a good debate, but I hate imposters and think they should be banned <grr>

He's cheating - a closer look shows that his feet are resting on the wall. A warped plank at best

Does this prove that Norwegians talk sh*t?

Just about to respond to Norway's copy of the morning paper - it's not often I read Norwegian papers at breakfast - when we got hit by two aftershocks of 4.1 in quick succession. I shouldn't have gloated yesterday. We lost power and I had a disturbed three year old. He finds earthquakes exciting but he isn't too keen of the dark.

If you are interested in details see: http://quake.crowe.co.nz/QuakeMap/Single/?Index=0

Everything is back to normal now, so I had better get on and make lunch for the tribe.

Lenny - Luckily we were free of that plague on 606, but I have seen it elsewhere and it can get horrible. Hopefully we can stay clear of it, but need to stay vigilant and look for a slightly different posting name variant.

Can you believe it...It's Gary Neville's testimonial tonight...but he is donating the monies to a social club for people travelling up from Surrey to watch games and some sustainable energy projects! I seem to recall that footballers can receive all the profits from their testimonial activities tax free?
Still it is making essential broadcasting for 5-Live....
