So you prefer it to the Premier League, but you would rather be in the Premier League?

I prefer it to the Premier League but I wouldn't mind being in the Premier League. I'd certainly prefer it to League 2, don't get me wrong.

We know, you also seem to get the best reception on here, people can tell that you are genuine.

Look on the bright side, to get to the Premier you will need three promotions, how exciting is that?

Pompey are the new Exeter. They will be drifting around leagues 1 and 2 for ever and ever.

We need to rethink our rivalry.

It's nearing the end of the 2012/13 season in English football. When do posters think Saints and Pompey will meet again in a league fixture? The first poster to get it right will eventually receive an anthology of my odes from 606.

I'm praying that it's the 3rd Round of the FA cup next season at home. Can you imagine!

So you're backing Portsmouth to win two games next year?

League fixture? Minimum is probably 4 years, because -- assuming Pompey are careful this time -- that's likely the minimum for them to return, and even in a nightmare scenario I cannot imagine us dropping below the Championship.

Exactly this, I think I read somewhere that it is the most competitive League in Europe in terms of how close the teams are statistically and that doesn't surprise me one bit. The lines between success and failure are far too close together for my liking, any team can win any match and usually do. The financial outlay to succeed in the Championship is huge compared to what you are earning, and a few failed promotion pushes can be hazardous to a clubs financial health. I'm a huge fan of the Championship, and still watch loads of the games, but I prefer to do so from afar. Last season was my favourite ever as a Saints fan and 06/07 was good fun, but it wasn't so much fun in 05/06, 07/08 or 08/09, scary, scary league!

As the season draws to closure Vera Lynns old favourite "We'll meet again don't know where don't know when" etc springs to mind - any other songs spring to mind re our next meeting with the old foe ?

I guess it will be a while unless it is one of the cups......... In some ways I will miss the derbies....in others I am glad we don't play Pompey regularly, as of late the discord between the clubs is just out of hand. My old buddies are turning in their respective graves to hear the retorts and bitterness between the clubs fans.
Football rivalry is one thing as is genuine good humoured banter some of it though goes beyond the bounds of rivalry. Will it ever end....................?
