I think he's correct in terms of what the squad needs; 2 or 3 creative players of real quality, but he was nowhere near getting the best out of the current group of players.
Yeah, a couple of weeks ago I didn't agree that we were only 2 or 3 players away, but (without getting carried away from 2 games under McD) I can see some sense to that argument. Particularly a bit of pace and width
We can all critise after the he never stood a chance owing to the fact he had no investment plus he stated thta it was promotion or walk .What Brian is money and patience a chance to show some real progress the honeymoon will be oiver as soon as he loses a game.In the meantime give everyone a run out what has he to lose
It’s also bullshit that Warnock didn’t have money to spend. He did – not a huge amount – but enough to bring in Kenny, Peltier, Pearce, Varney, Austin, Tonge (who he never played), Hall (who he never played), Morison, Warnock, Diouf, Habibou (who he never played), Norris, Ashdown, Green, Drury (who he never played), plus Thomas, Tate and Barkley on loan. Can you really say that he got the best out of any of those players?

Agree, but he consistently played Tonge. More appearances than Brown, Norris and Green and as many as Austin.
Seemed to consistently play Tonge while he was here on loan, and then lost interest in him for a bit after signing him in January
I agree, but I'm still withholding full judgement on Austin until we've seen him have a proper run in the side after a reasonable summer break
He does look like he needs a rest, so I'll reserve judgement until next season too. The thing that confuses me about him is quite often his technical ability seems limited, and then he'll score a goal like yesterday's! He'd definitely be useful against big, strong teams. We do seem to lack in strength, which is fine - but when you consider Warnock was attempting to make a long ball team it suggests we really, really didn't suit it
hmmm he had a good record on promoting teams though ! but im more than happy with mcdermot, hope we all feel the same come christmas
I've always been more impressed with Norris than Tonge, always seems to put himself about more, and has more technical ability, although they're both pretty average and much of a muchness.
