I know a Polish couple who both work part-time in Poundland. Between them, they earn £240 per week (net) and pay roughly £35 per week in tax. This hard-working couple not only pay into the system, but they also fill a labour shortage this country has for people that can operate a till. You see, we need to import cashiers because the three million currently residing on the dole are unable to grasp such a skill. Besides, our own unemployed are too feckless to bother with such a menial job. I know a NAVISION developer that came over to the UK from India about 15 years ago with his family as a kid. He now earns 70k doing computer programming. His wife, also from India, works as a journalist. They have 1 kid. I don't know the details of his wife's income, but I bet their taxes cover all of those costs you cited for your Polish friends. Are you Polish friends planning on both working part-time in Poundland all their lives? Or are they planning on staying here, getting real jobs once they've mastered the language and send their kids to school here? How many English families have been on the dole for generations? Do they deserve our tax money more for doing ****all apart from smoking roll-ups and watching daytime TV? I'm starting to think you're Richard Littlejohn. I spent 7 years living in Brighton, so I know Lewes and Horsham and people from there. They're english before you ask. They're also very prone to taking/selling/growing/etc lots of drugs. They'd also happily shag prostitutes if available. Do you honestly think that 'immigrants' are responsible for people in small towns taking drugs? Stealing? Are you ****ing insane?
So, in your world, an Indian earns enough to cover the cost of a low-paid Polish family. In that case, how about we don't allow the low-paid Poles in, but we do keep the well-paid Indians? That way an English person can work in Poundland, thus saving untold thousands in benefits per year. And that is just one instance. And, yes, I would prefer an English scumbag to claim benefits over a foreign wastrel. Ideally, no one would waste their lives away on the dole, but they do, and we have enough of them, so why import more numbers to join the dole queue?
