Looking at the graphs that Medro supplied, I would say 'unlimited immigration' is a fair reflection of the data. Besides, the government only releases figures that they have doctored, manipulated and massaged. The fact is they have absolutely no idea how many immigrants there are in this country. And that is seriously fooked!
Anyway, I am not against all immigration. In fact, areas such as Palmers Green (Greeks) and Cheshunt (Italians) have benefited greatly from the influx of industrious migrants. However, areas such as Ponders End (Afghans) and Edmonton (Somalis) have descended into pits of degradation. This is due to migrants who behave in a sub-human manner. 97% unemployment amongst the working-age Somalis does not represent good immigration.

So we shouldn't take in people from war-torn zones?

Immigration as a whole is great for this country, always has been and always will be. The main problems with England have always been the weather and english people. Immigration solves one of those problems.

Do you have any issues with english people leaving the UK Ponders? Or is it just the people 'coming over here and stealing our jobs and ruining Great Britain' that gets to you?

English people have an international reputation for going over to other countries and acting like pricks. Do you think we're allowed to do it and not them?

If you really think that 'unlimited immigration' has been happening over the last decade then you're a clueless ****. Yes the numbers are high, but they're barely over emigration rates. Also, they take into account foreign students/nurses/footballers/etc, as in everyone you'll be happy comes over.

And just to restate it, 100k people a year in a country like this is nothing. Not even noticeable.

The way you slavered on about it you would have thought that Britain had no immigration under Maggie - and that was not the case which is all i was saying.

The way I "slavered on about it"? I simply said that Blair basically opened the gates for all, don't think that's "slavering" on about it.

So you're not english?

You slaver about everything Medro - you'd make asking for a pint of beer sound either like a whinge or an invitation for an argument

I'm baffled by how stupid you are.

You claimed that I might be part of 'the English people that have an international reputation for going over to other countries and acting like pricks'.

I'm not. I'm English and I grew up in France. I've also travelled a lot but as I'm a nice, intelligent chap I don't get into fights with locals.

How does that make me 'not English'?

Button it you.

You’re not because you grew up in France!?!

For a start, that’s a lie and second of all what would that matter. Third what does it matter how much you’ve travelled, pricks still travel abroad.

You don’t get into any fights because you don’t speak to anyone and have no friends.

P.S. You are not nice at all that’s why I sarcastically call you Mr Happy. <laugh>

I'm having to take a punt on whether this is a question, a statment, a rhetorical question or the dribbled jizz of a tramp cascading onto your keyboard.

You grew up in Ireland

You are on a wind-up, surely? Do you honestly believe that only 100k immigrants come to this country each year? If you do believe that, then it is you who is the clueless ****.

So immigration is not noticeable in England, eh? Do you live in the Outer Hebrides? Try going to Wisbech, Spalding, Horsham and Lewes. Ask the locals there what they think of immigration and the effect it has had on their small towns.

What do you see when you walk around the big cities? Do you see the ghetto-type areas? Or are they a fabrication of my bigoted mind?

And, yes, we should take people from war-torn countries. But why do they not return when peace prevails? Why do we have communities made up of people from Tunisia, Sierra Leone etc. Why do they pass through so many countries to get here? Is it because they want to enjoy our culture, or is it because they get a free-ride?

If my concerns make me a racist little-Englander, then that is fine by me.

The 100k was from the charts Medro posted that you quoted. Net immigration is around 100k/year over the last few years.

I never said that immigration isn't noticeable, I said 100k a year in a country like England isn't noticeable. Yes there are ghetto-type areas in London, like in every other large city in the world, so what? Do you think we would all be friends if there were no immigrants?

Immigrants in Lewes and Horsham? You mean like 50 poles and a few asian people? People there get pissed off with it because they're inbred country folk, people in Horsham are generally too stupid/ugly to be allowed on the Jeremy Kyle show.

Sorry my boss just turned up...

Also, 'a free ride' for people that come here from war-torn countries? Like a shelter and basic living expenses? Do you realise how little money that is? We blew up their countries in the first place ffs.

Of course there's a finite amount of space in this country, we couldn't fit another 600 million people in here comfortably, but 100k a year is nothing, especially when the majority of people coming over are of working age and do their bit.

My favourite comedian Doug Stanhope nailed it:

(that was horribly misquoted, I saw it ages ago and was really high)

I fear you are not jesting with me, Toby. You take umbrage to my comments regarding immigration, yet you make such bollocks statements.

We are not talking about 50 Poles and a few Asians. These quaint, countryside towns are now riddled with drugs, prostitution, bootleg booze and theft. Or should our small towns - places that used to be the dream for people looking to leave the cities - become havens for Europe's scum?

I can't even start on your point regarding inner-cities and the ghettoes.

Absolute ****e.

Are there no Romanian pickpockets on the London underground?

Are our local services not under threat from immigrants arriving en masse?

I can't believe I have been duped for so long. I feel really silly now.

Did I say there weren't?

Are there no English pickpockets on the London underground?

Is immigration a convenient tool the right wing press and bigoted parties like the BNP and UKIP use to drive fear into naive people and sell newspapers?

The countries where the people come from change, the bigoted language never changes. We heard it in Scotland about the Irish 100 years ago, we heard it in the 1960s about West Indians, we heard it in the 1970s about Asians, the 1990s about Poles and now it's Somalians, Romanians etc.

Funnily enough, the racists and bigots always tell you the country wont be able to cope and we'll be over-run.

It's never happened.
