"....what's the point in being a football fan?..." To be honest, that is a question I have asked myself repeatedly since Match of the Day became the Ex-Premiership players 'Nose in the Trough' show! See threads on CI for meaningful debate and discussion on the subject. Trouble is, the debate can never take place here because many cant see past the eyes in their tiger suits!!!!!
my first season also. vs Middlesboro at BP. We won 3 - 0 but I can remember very little other than walking with crowds down North Road home with me mates
Please enlighten me. I've been watching City since the mid 80s, have never worn a tiger suit yet am hopeful (and cautiously expect) that we're going to get automatic promotion this season. Does that make me a 'real' fan or not? I'd love to know because I'd hate to think I'd been wasting my time for the last 30 years hoping for success for my club.
How the hell did you type that with your big foam hands, and tiger suit getting in the way?? No point in asking on here as there are no hull city fans. Best get yourself off to CI to see if they will allow you to support the club
Mussie, that was my first step on the path that has led my to so many low points following the Tigers but its the highs that keep you going. Its in the blood and also now in my sons. Born in Ull supprort Ull. Thats the way it should be. Also confident but so nervous !!
I would say there's not many real hull city fans on here, as it seems most are embarrassed to wear face paint and onesies. Expectation and optimism is down to personality not choice of sport team. And we're 6 points clear of 3rd with an inferior goal difference, not 5 points. 5 points mean Watford would go above us with a win and two draws assuming we lose all games. I'm pretty sure the lads can bring 7 points home to humberside over the next 4 games to ensure promotion. Guess I'm not a real hull city fan either eh? I'll go and support Hinckley united then, a real club playing in a real league...
Mussie is just being cautious due to his experience of following the Tigers, as am i, but also the more recent recruits have had a shed load of better times to colour their opinion....it's as simple as that. By the way been on wolves forums and the majority of them think we'll hammer them...........doesn't help me though, i'm trying to ignore we actually have a game until 7:44pm
During my tea break this morning I took a survey of all 15000 true city supporters , 10% were worried, 5% didn't care we still would be in the playoffs anyway, 66% were not worried the other19% didn't know who city were playing. You can believe this its true!!!!!. I know its a good subject to discuss now but just think what we expected at the beginning of the season. The team have exeeded all our expectations and they will continue to do so to the last match. So there!
As am I - having supported the tigers since the late 80's I am well aware of our well honed ability to snatch failure from the jaws of success. But to suggest that younger supporters (who have not experienced that first hand), or those who are optimistic about our chances of grabbing an automatic promotion place are not Hull City supporters at all is outrageous
Ive been supporting city since the mid 80s as a nipper and you won't meet a more pessimistic tiger than I, however; something just feels.different this year that I can't put my finger on. I hope for once I can be optimistic without being wrong!!
We generally lose 2 in a calendar month this season which means we have a loss to come most likely. I shudder to think what it will be like on here tonight if we lose, you can brace yourself for the scapegoat comments and the kneejerking too, and seeing as Bruce isn't playing then poor old Roko will get it in the neck no doubt. The goalie too perhaps. I'm one of the older generation but couldn't be more happy that we will go up at this stage.
I'm a ****ing plastic---I'm a ****ing plastic-nah nah nah nahhh nah nah nahh city automatic--- city automatic-nah nah nah nahh nah nah nah nahh I'm a ****ing plastic --- mussie is so drastic nah nah nah nahh
69-70 for me and yes there have been an awful lot more downs than ups but that means you enjoy the good times so much more. Part of me feels we should have enough to get us over the line but the other part is nervous as hell. That's just natural surely with everything that's at stake?
