Villa's saving grace will be the fact they have goals in the team. Stoke on the other hand can't score to save their lives (or their premier league status!) which is why I reckon they'll go down. That accompanied with the fact Wigan turn into world beaters at the end of the season

I've watched both games under him so far, and it is indeed much better. Fight, passion and a desire to actually take a gamble and attack fully.

He's probably based his training and team discussions around a very simple basic stance:

    STOP F*****G ABOUT

Therefore Johnson and Sessignon have started to drive forward instead of trying fancy this and that which drives others in the team crazy and splits teams.

Haveto admit I was wrong about Di Canio he's certainly given them fire. Something Stoke seem to have lost!

I did say that I thought the di Canio-effect would save Sunderland because they were already out of the zone. He will get them the odd win they need. The really hard bit is crawling out of the pit when others keep getting points.

As a side issue, I am developing OCD. Can someone tell me how I can stop looking at the League table and doing calculations. My brain is actually telling me we are okay and I have even explained to others why this is so, but my inner Saints fan is still whimpering.

    This.
Also, I keep looking at the run-ins of the teams around us and working out how high we can realistically finish - 10th or a slim chance of 9th certainly still isn't out of the question.
My inner Saints fan then looks at the run-ins of the bottom clubs... We could well be the team to send Stoke down on the final day and be the toast of the league for finally removing their anti-football from the Prem (nothing against the club - a lot against Pulis though).

They're all dead scared of him. I am and I haven't even met him. He was slapping Pardew around the face when he was being friendly when they met on the touchline yesterday. I still remember him literally kicking a Swindon player hard up the backside.

The man is an absolute nut case.

PS there were times yesterday when he had a facial expression very similar to that obnoxious Commodus in the Gladiator.

This. The goals Sunderland scored weren't team goals, but just down to confidence and determination. O'Neill didn't have that sort of motivational approach and I think that Di Canio will keep him up, like I thought he would but in the long run it may not work out; he relied on a high budget at Swindon for a L2/L1 club and he could easily fall out with the Sunderland Chairman for one reason or another, along with some players like he did at Swindon.

Does no-one suspect that this is the plan? Use him to avoid the drop knwoing that it may not require any pay off to get rid of him later?

See Redknapp is slagging off his players...get your retaliation in early. He says it is nonsense saying they would leave if the team was relegated to the Championship...he says they would never get the same money anywhere else and he adds that QPR wouldn't be facing relegation if they were any good. Great manager...just what the players want to hear. Never going to be Harry's fault is it?

Yeah. Feel bad for the poor QPR fans. Some of them wondering why he would insult his own players when if they can't leave he will need them next year.

Well, obviously because Redknapp doesn't plan to be coaching QPR next year if he can help it.

What an arse he is - he`ll walk away, leaving another shambles behind him. He had plenty time and budget to sort them, but couldn`t - Harry Houdini, that`s a laugh.

I don't feel sorry for QPR fans. They were the ones waving the 'Coma and save us Harry' banners while Hughes was still manager. They got what they wanted. It is therefore their own fault.

For £100 I can cure you.

Put it on Saints to be relegated at 125/1 with Betway. Then you won't mind so much if we go down because you'll have £12,500 coming if we do.

Fate has always had a nasty habit of dealing us a duff hand from the bottom of the deck, it's time we had a few aces thrown our way and give us something to rid us of the worry.

The QPR Stoke game on Saturday is huge. A loss for Stoke and they really will feel the pressure.

I put a fiver on Saints to go down at 150/1. Then, at least if we go down, my season ticket next year is paid for.
