Spin spin ****ing spin. The market for cotton has dissolved, so the Afghan have no money from their crops this year. So they have planted more poppy. It's not a military failure but one of simple economics. The world needs less spun cotton at the same time that there is a glut. Spin, spin spun!

So maybe 'flood in' was an exaggeration, but you can just about bank on the fact that it's flooding out of Helmand..... ....and it's going somewhere.
