To be honest, to have a run of games like we have had, and still be in a chance of a playoff place just shows how accomplished we were the first half of the season.

I hope we can turn it round in the next few games and get into the playoffs, as there would be confidence there and we could kick it into the semi finals (hopefully against a deflated Watford) and do something with it.

We are this years Blackpool! <laugh><ok>

... unfortunately there are two alternative, and perhaps more plausible, explanations:

    1) This division isn't all that for quality ... watching the FA Cup semi final yesterday the gap in class looks like a yawning chasm ...

    2) When we hit our 'purple patch' other teams were still in evolution / just hadn't got their acts together ... i.e Bolton

I hope you are right ... but whilst the heart still hopes the head is saying 'how can we expect to beat one of the divisions form teams (and pre-season favourites) tomorrow when we have been so utterly crap recently?' - (Barnsley mullered us ... completely ... and look what happened to them against Charlton) ...

Now who's got the ******* Samaritans number?

Its all about form going into the playoffs, and we will NEED to be in form in order to get there, its all part of Nigels master plan, and to embarrass Forest on the last game of the season is just a bonus. <ok>

I think we should all just take remarks from other club supporters on the chin.
We have been found out big time.we have spent big over the past couple of seasons, and are no betterat this time.
We have two front strikers who probably won't score again this season we have had a light weight and imbalanced midfield all season and now a leaky defence conceding goals late on. Add to that a manager who has no idea how to pull things around and possibly owners who don't have a lot of dosh left. Do I believe, well I believe this club of oursis deep in the brown stuff.

Don't hold back Whitwick - tell it how it is ... can't really argue with most of it ... other than, what makes you think our owners have blown their wealth?

At the start of the season it was obvious to everyone we needed a centre half to partner Morgan. We didn't get it, and we ended up with 2 injury prone defenders

In Jan we needed a striker and a midfielder. We got the striker but not the midfielder, so come the loan market a chance to sort out the problem and we end up with a donkey in Harry Kane. I think these 2 positions are currently biting us on the arse. Michael Keane has been superb but his inexperience is costing us at times, luckily Wes manages to cover up most of it

It baffles me why people have a blind spot for pearson's fook ups.. he has systematically alienated player after player that he has in his squad. This has not gone unnoticed by the young players we have. The lot of them are playing with fear, one or two inconsistent performances and he throws you to the dogs.. he says he "backs" his players ....really? ask danns, futacs, waghorn, wellens, gallagher...schlupp. moore...( I won't mention beckford) etc etc.. why would anybody "go to the mat" for such a liar..the bringing in of kane as I said was sheer panic and is a total flop... he has no idea how to get out of this slump. quote : just keep working harder... FFS.. <ok>

They might not have "blown" their wealth, but they won't subsidise a failing investment forever - and whatever wealth they are willing to invest will seemingly be less of an advantage under the FFP rules to be implemented in the football league next year.

On the face of it, Abramovich could buy a championship club next year but what he would be able to "invest" would be limited by income. Some say, instead of interest free loans then wealthy owners will just convert that deficit to shares, but that makes for a far riskier transaction than the current common strategy as A) the owners will not be considered creditors in the event of administration, and B) for shares to be worth anything then there must be a market for them - i.e. someone willing to buy at least the same or increased value.

Clubs with parachute payments who stay out of debt really should be at an advantage from next season regardless of the wealth of other clubs owners, such is the financial clout of the premier league as a result of the re-negotiation of T.V. rights and forthcoming increase in parachute money.

In theory at least, it would be a good season to get promoted, this one. Certainly more so than in previous years.....

....one thing I will say though - the fact they haven't fired the gun on flat-top yet means either they don't feel they are in a "**** of bust" situation in relation to their financial strategy or that they don't have sufficient confidence in choosing a successor who would make an immediate positive impact whilst the playoffs are still a possibility.

You should be hoping it is a case of the former rather than the latter. Bet they are wishing they had moved for Di Canio a few weeks ago mind....
