I certainly see them as winnable, I really can't see us losing many of our remaining games. We have got to get a couple more wins though, 4 draws and a defeat and I think we are going down.

3 draws and win and we will likely stay up.

If we beat Reading, and draw with Stoke and Villa we are going to be pretty much there. I'd probably take that now if offered even with defeats against Brom and Man City.

We might need as many as 5 more points to be safe but if we can't beat Reading and get 5 points from our remaining 5 games we deserve to go down. As a side issue I could not care less whether we send Villa down or not - personally I would rather see Stoke or Wigan go down with Reading and QPR - but in the general run of things I don't particularly care who it is as long as it isn't us!!

A couple of thing to note about the Villa game.

    1) When we played them earlier in the season at Villa Park I think we played a 4-5-1 and we unlucky not to win. From memory we were much better than them and I thought they were lucky to draw with us.

    2) When we played Villa in the cup at CR we played a VERY flat 4-4-2 with Holt and Morison up front. We got hacked to bits by Villa's 5 man midfield-diamond and got a good hiding.

What do you think we will do for the Villa game at home?

To be fair the League Cup game wasn't a true refelection mainly because we didn't put out a full team, which was a massive disappointment to me!

The way we're currently playing I can see it being 1-2 to Villa.

    Agree - 1-1 looks a likely outcome.

Here's how I see our last 5 games.

    Reading (h) 2-1
    Stoke (a) 0-0
    Villa (h) 1-1
    Albion (h) 1-1
    Citeh (a) 0-5

Should be just enough hopefully !

Pretty positive forecast, I hope you're right, but will 6 points be enough??? Everyone else seems to be on a bit of a run at the moment!!!

I fear you might be right ILD. A lot of matches left involve other teams in the mix playing each other - they both can't win but they both can't lose. If the combination of results go against us and bearing in mind our goal difference it might mean that we need 42 points to be safe. If we don't beat Reading we are in deep deep trouble.

If we can't beat two of Villa, Reading, Stoke or West Brom, then we deserve to be relegated

Tbh, the severe injustice of the Arsenal game and the massive support (always heightened when fans sense their team is in a dogfight) will carry us over the line. Top priority in summer is 2 wingers without a doubt...the fact that we have to play with Kamara and E.Bennett is an disaster. Pilkington and Snodgrass are the only two premier league quality wingers, that is beyond dispute surely?

I think we've witnessed an improvement in the last two games, and believe that we will manage to stay up. It will be tough, but I think there is enough steel in the players to be up for the fight and come through it, albeit a bit battered and bruised. Even if we lost to Reading, I can see us winning the two home games, there is nothing to fear against WBA, I'd be more fearful against villa - they've got more to fight for and WBA.

There are really interesting comments on here such as if we can't beat two out of those four teams we deserve to go down. I'm sure all those teams fans will be saying if we can't beat Norwich then we are ****e. There is less than the width of a gnat's cock between these teams. This season has been a struggle, a bit like kicking ****e up a hill in pointy shoes, but hopefully it will be less of struggle next season, whatever division we're in

I was at the Emirates on saturday and our support was phenomal as it usually is.
No one can accuse the fans of not getting behind the team, the team needs to do likewise!
On the other hand the Arsenal support is terrible, I've not heard so much moaning and groaning and complaining since we last sat in the Jarrold!!
I think we need an Attacking midfielder to drive the team forward, we spend too much time with 8/9 of our side in our own penalty box.

    18/04/13 - 08.15HRS Still feel lucky.

IF we beat Reading on Saturday and IF Wigan lose at Wet Sham, we'll be 7 points clear of them. That would mean Wigan would need to win 3 of their remaining 5 games to overhaul us and that's always assuming we then go and lose our last four games. I don't care about their previous escapology acts that ain't gonna happen <ok>

KIO, Honestly you cannot write Wigan off. They ran the game last night against Man City and have escaped from worst positions.
