Some of the responses aimed at you on that thread have been pathetic. So Adam Scott, lucky bastard, should have been in the water twice, once on day 3 and once on day 4.
They should make that thread a sticky (Donga's probably knocked one out over it). It's the highlight of their season. Rodgers will be claiming her death was a part of his grand plan to create Inner Football Deliverance Momentum.
Day three was even closer. Rolling down the bank then just stopped. Every ****er elses ball kept rolling. My tip / fancy was awesome. Never even made the cut
Of mine only Westwood came close, I stopped watching last night when it became clear he wasn't making top five, had to go to bed as was Knackered. Oh how I smiled on Friday as Dustin Johnson rolled in an eagle to go seven under and two shots in front. The smile was gone two double bogeys, a single bogey and a complete implosion later! Rose and the south African bloke were never in it.
At the end of the first round all your tips of Rose, Westwood and Johnson were looking pretty solid. I did actually think about you went I was watching without actually seeing Poult play 1 shot he was that bad It's amazing how quickly things can turn against you on that course.
Poulter isn't good enough to win there, never will be. His best bet is probably our open. Johnson I've see hit shanks both there and when he was in contention when Clarke wn the Open. Really strange to see a top pro do that, I think he lacks the concentration needed for the next step, just a bit too laid back. I follow him a bit as he left me bloody awestruck at the Ryder Cup. Followed his group round for a few holes and Martin Kaymer had hit this monster down 16 off the tee. Johnson hit it forty yards past with a little swish of the driver, incredible. I reckon Rory McIlroy won't win anywhere near as many as people think, he spits the dummy when things don't go well and if you do that one bad hole turns into two and three which ****s your tournament up. I know he's young but he's done it four times in majors now.
Rory just seems to have an attitude of if I can't win then I don't really care. One bad shot and the wheels can completely come off for him whereas other simply recover on the next shot then continue. The difference in attitudes between him and Tiger is really evident. What do you think of the whole Tiger scandal ? I'm glad he wasn't disqualified as it would have led to alot of 'what ifs', plus any Masters is a better event for having Tiger in it in my opinion.
He should have been though. I'm glad he didn't win, that would have been worse! As it goes and trying to unravel the whole bag of worms that is the R&A rule book there does seem to be a bit of leeway in that they discussed it before his round had finished and decided what he'd done is ok, they looked at it again after what he said but because of a new rule the old trial by TV can now seemingly be overlooked in favour of common sense. It was brought in because with HD and 3D TV so called 'cheating' can be spotted on TV when the perpetrator is in fact innocent. Like of a ball happens to have moved 5mm during a rain delay, or something like that. Fact is though, Woods admitted that he moved the ball back on purpose so he could just replicate the shot exactly and it would land better fr him. It did, it landed stone dead pin high and he knocked it in, flat out rule breaking in my book but that's not to say it isn't done on a regular basis. What he SHOULD have done was drop pefectly legitimately on a line backwards from where he played originally to the pin, he didn't though, he said he was going back to original position so in THAT case two yards back is an infringement. Clear as mud, eh?
I agree he should have been kicked out of it but part of me is glad that he wasn't as it would of caused so much ****. However, like you I'm really pleased he didn't win too as like you said it would have been even worse. Supposedly it was alot of the players who were complaining he should have been kicked out so it sounds like Woods is as popular as a fart in a lift on the tours.
Not sure it's that so much, I think he's becoming more popular. One or two said he should have disqualified himself but in his hard headed way he did maybe the right thing, he went with the ruling. I'm sure if they'd have disqualified him he would have accepted it but because they didn't he just went with it. After all, when they penalised that kid for slow play he himself said 'rules are rules'. You just have to accept them and get on with it and in this case he did really.
He should have been disqualified. End of. It's like Tevez avoiding the nick for driving while disqualified. Woods is too high profile to ban, but that's what should have happened. This has nothing to do with me hating the ****, by the way
Stolen from GC. This pretty much sums up the mentality of the people who are dancing on Thatcher's grave. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/poli...h-threats.html "To have such a personal attack on me and my family was really shocking."
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-22151589 "A man who was (loudly) trying to arrange a protest on his phone has been detained by police in London's Trafalgar Square" Wonder if the 'pool board will have a whip round to pay donga's bail?
Sweats, have a look at this; http://www.pennardgolfclub.com/ This course is on top of the cliff of that beach you visited when you were down. Ranked 74th best in Britain by this website; http://www.top100golfcourses.co.uk/htmlsite/productdetails.asp?id=247 and at £690 for full membership is cheaper than that place you're on about and you can play at any time you like. It's four miles from my house and I'll be going there if my place doesn't sort its flooding issue out soon. Golf is ****ing expensive where you live man.
This sort of place hikes the price of pay and play because they don't really need it that much, nor want it. Very difficult course for someone to just turn up and have a go. I can get on there for £25 as I've a county card and it's well worth that, I wouldn't pay the normal £50. It went up to £80 during Ryder Cup summer too, the robbing bastards.
really pisses me off that you can get clubs like that at that price. pretty much everywhere round here is the best part of 1k for full membership.
Like I said, competition. There's a club in that top 100 which is between my house and Pennard, called Clyne, and then there's one in the Welsh top thirty two miles from me house called Langland. Then there's Fairwood which literally backs onto Clyne, and Gower which is a few miles further up the penninsula. If you stuck a pin in a drew a circle all those are within a five mile radius. Then head out towards Neath and you come to my place and Neath itself and quite a few outlying ones, all wanting your cash and so driving membership down. Two, Morriston and Glynneath, are on the verge of closing down competely and they're both well established decent golf courses.
