Hello fellow Spurs fans, technically not new to this site as i had an old account but can't gain access through it anymore for some reason <admins i will forward my other email address so you can cancel it for me> Anyway just wanted to see how everyone is and see how you all feel the season has gone for our new signings from Dembele to Holtby, Llrois to Siggy. Let me know your thoughts!
Also only posted like 3 articals under the name Kings good knee i think it was but can't fully remember as i spent most the time during my first use of this site drunk in Australia on my smartphone!
New member of SORTS. You need to be proficient in spelling to be able to post on this board. That is our only rule. Even wumming is permitted.
Welcome back then Apart from Dempsey the signings have all been good. Vertonghen's my favourite of all of them though.
It's Sunday Verts has been excellent for us this season and if he was given a longer run with Dawson as his CB partner while Kaboul has been out then i think you could have seen one of the best CB pairings in the Premiership
The irony is, PNP, that I am actually wumming by making my comment. As far as wumsters go, I am far ahead of the pack. I doubt any will deny that.
Well, welcome Dembale--I like the moniker. I've been a particular fan of our new signings, for some reason. I particularly like Dembélé for some reason, but most would say Vertonghen has been even better. I would have called him the best defender in football, but have had to step back based on a few poorer games. He's absolutely brilliant going forward, reading play and intercepting, but he can make poor decisions at the back. I notice he's a different player when a little run down. He goes from superb to ordinary at around the three games in 10 or eleven games or so mark. Dembélé also varies. He had a genuinely bad game against Basel last time, but usually he's either good but not great, or rules midfield. Gylfi's come on big time. For more than half the year he was an afterthought, dismissed as a flash in the pan or not a Spurs player. Lately he's been as good as anyone, with an ability to create danger every game and a truly admirable work ethic that results in him hassling back nearly as well as Lennon. It's probably fair to say Lloris has had a mini-dip lately, but he's also been a big success, with a shout at being the Prem's best keeper. We were all agreeing Dempsey was a complete bust, then he went and scored two against Basel. Fair to say he still doesn't seem to fit in, and doesn't help much--except it's also fair to say he's got a genuine knack for knocking the ball into the net, and it's one we can use. Add it all up and it's a remarkably good group of buys. We talk a lot more about the glaring absence of a striker among them than how good they are, though.
Now a certain player for me who actually has the attitude i want to see in all our players in Holtby! Ok he may not have totally lived up to his promise so far and still has a way to got before we see the form he produced in the German leagues but the way he commits and battles for every ball is only equalled by Dawson INO.
Dahnt no abaht spellin do I but I fink Oltby does a lot of runnin but don't get nowhere and lloris is a bludee good goalie. Dempsey duz it in spells and so duz Dembele. Like our boss tho. I don't fink that we did enuff in the last transfer window but the season aint over yet. I like Siggy and Verts and awl in awl we stand a good chance of top four.
I think as fans we can be a little rose tinted regarding our signings. Lioris, Verts top draw. So far I have found Dembele to be average . Sig , slow , average technic not a top 4 player. Holtby contributed very little since signing , Early he looked he may have something but lately he has been wasteful. Dempsey , Ade have been crap. The only ones worth signing are Lioris, Verts the others will not take you to the " next level " as none were of the quality of VDV and Modric.
Blimey, you're right. I thought his foot connected with the bucket a while ago. But no, he's 87 and still going. I doubt that Bert will be making a comeback though.
