The uglier side of today - The police were ****.

I saw at least 10 red flairs thrown down from the Sunderland area, and some of them right down onto the Newcastle fans below, and the police did **** all but stand and watch.

Also - A couple of stupid Toon fans shouting at everyone outside, saying "howay lets all round up and go kill the mackem bastards"

 

I only saw a couple of flares, because I was too busy being shocked by the performance on the pitch... and then by the programme when we were 1-0 down and under the cosh

What I did see was fighting breaking out in the strawberry corner, and one young lad being led away by an army of police and stewards to the pink cells, and then I saw an older lad throw a full on punch at the lad being led away, which connected right in his mush. Horrible scenes.

One of DT's friends tweeted that a fight had broken out between two people next to her, and that one lad was getting beaten to **** for ten minutes and the police wouldn't help.

Things like that disgust you by association don't they?

I usually bemoan the use of scum between supporters, but when people read stuff like that, what else are they supposed to think?

By the time I got the bus home there was a massive police presence near the Gate, but nobody was causing trouble. Good job I didn't catch an earlier one!

This. I watched the game at Washington Cricket Club with a mixed set of lads good banter a couple of beers and for once I had the bragging rights. That's how it should be. Sorry your reall supporters are brought down by this

 

Sadly every Derby, supporters are getting tarnished by fools. Got to say I left before the end and got chatting with a few cops and when I said to them good luck for after the match all the male cops were fearing the worst, the female one there didn't have a clue what I was going on about until I pointed out that it was 3-0 to Sunderland and she knew exactly what I meant straight away and was fearing the worst.

 

Well, about 400 of those are easily identifiable. Give them between three and six months each.

The fact is there was trouble before the game, that is getting reported and other stuff getting thrown down into our end.

 

Yeah, because that's the sort we need locked up and in the system, not the murderers or rapists or anything...

 

The stupid few are not just tarnishing the Club, but the City. Can't get my head around it.

 

Maybe it's because you have a brain? Anyone who has the ability to even claim to be in possession of such equipment wouldn't be doing what those individuals were doing.

I have no clue what they were trying to achieve, but it's pathetic.
