I think he has already said something similar to this, not sure when and where I have to say but if I find it, I'll post it!
The annoying thing is that Redknapp's failure to keep QPR up will have no affect on the media's perception of him. He had money spent on players and, whether he saved them or not, he should have got better results from the team he had.
I can't stand Redknapp but at least his teams try to play football which is more than can be said for West Ham's lump of lard manager.
Can't see WHU sacking Allardyce...who would sack a manager who got you promoted and was doing well in the PL?
Harry's style is by no means as bad as Sam's, agreed - not by a long shot. But even so, prior to yesterday, I thought QPR were the dirtiest side to visit SMS this season. Took lumps out of us in that first half. Three yellows, and should have been more - including at least one red. I didn't see QPR trying to play football that day.
He should be shamed! He spent 20m and added 180k pw to the wage bill at QPR, that is a massive financial investment, one much larger than most premier league clubs make in a season on players. I always thought they were doomed, no matter who went in, but with that kind of investment i expected a much much better showing, even from El Twitchy himself. However not comlaining as the media frenzy surrounding them has ensured my wallet has been filled courtesy of my mate William!
The bottom of the table has been very open with several teams involved...it was by no means as hopeless as it looked to get QPR out of the bottom. It has taken us a few wins to pull away. He got draws when he needed wins...he would have done better with the players he had if he'd been a decent manager. He may have been once, but the world has moved on. He's still a fire them up kind of manager...can you imagine him doing the analysis that Nigel did and Mauricio probably does.
Christ Newcastle must now be thankful for that injury time winner last week vs Fulham. Without it, they'd be joint-17th right now, and an iffy looking run-in (especially with their injuries): WBA (a) Liverpool (h) West Ham (a) QPR (a) Arsenal (h) The "all three ex-Saints managers relegated from the PL" would be right bang in which a chance of happening. As it is, that winner vs Fulham should be enough for them still.
Stoke's run in: Man Utd (h) QPR (a) Norwich (h) Sunderland (a) Spurs (h) Saints (a) Not a great run in. They simply must beat Norwich. As they are crap away from home, they may well need to beat a Champions League chasing Spurs as well. I reckon we may well relegate Stoke.
I said some time ago that I didn't think 37 points would be anywhere near enough this year. After Sunderland's win today, I'm beginning to wonder if 40 points will be enough. Wasn't there a team relegated with 41 once?
I think they will get two points maximum from that list. Pullis has lost the fans and they are on his back plus they have completely lost their form.
I think they will beat Norwich but that will be it. They will lose the others IMO and we will be waving them goodbye at St Marys.
Doesn't look a bad run in for Stoke...surely they could see themselves in with a chance at Sunderland, QPR, Norwich and, in their innocence, Southampton. Only ManU and Spurs are probably unlikely).
But they are probably the worst team bar Reading away from home. And they can't even win at home at the moment either.
The West Ham team containing Defoe, Di Canio, Kanoute etc went down with 42 points. I'm still not convinced enough to put any money on one particular team, but right now Wigan are ones who jump out at me. Stoke's next three games are massive. They could win them all or lose them all or do anything in between. Nothing would surprise me there. And of course they're not just massive for them, but also for Norwich and Sunderland, who are two of their three opponents. Interesting to see that Reading and/or QPR could mathmatically be relegated next weekend. That means we could well be into throwing your keeper up for corners and having five strikers on the field territory, should either be losing their game. And that could play right into Norwich (vs Reading) and Stoke's (vs QPR) hands. (Although granted, with Villa not playing until the Monday night, neither could be relegated at 5pm on Saturday - unless Wigan beat City this Wednesday)
