He's banned for the next two games - 10 bookings, like Meyler. Considering our 6 point gap, I'd give Fathi the chance. If he doesn't get it now, he never will. Koren seems to be better coming off the bench - look at yesterday and at Burnley. He is much better playing against tired players who will give him more space.
It was strange before the Ipswich game, there was no outcry about Fathi not playing yet i was told he was brilliant can play anywhere. Strange that. Glad Brucey has only one agenda.
i just think you look at our team and its not rammed with goals, id play our top scorer..quinn and meyler leaves the midfield solid enough
He is great but when meyler is back its a no brainer! And after korens goal i think he will start with meyler and quinn,
Thing is Koren's goal came from the bench just like his impact at Burnley. If we start him again it could just be the same as the games he's started recently where he was ****. I'd do the same thing that worked well against Ipswich and bring him on. Fathi to start please.
He is now banned for two matches, but his injured anyway. After Fathi's performance yesterday I would definitely play him, he was very, very good.
I thought his yellow cards needs to hit 15 now we have passed the 11th April ? If I remember Meyler had to avoid yellows over the games of Huddersfield , Watford and Boro to hopefully stay on 9 cards as after that is the cut off date which means you can get up to 15 cards now until the end of the season ?
Like Strov said, he got injured anyways (calf strain, I think), so he will likely miss the next two games no matter what.
I'd start Koren myself wherever possible as he gives you an edge but got to bench him in one of the next two as he can't handle playing 2 games together.
Both Swanny and Burnsy were saying how well he was playing yesterday but then Swanny just said it outright. Steve Bruce just doesnt fancy him as a player.
I suppose it depends on whether you are home or away. At home, playing an attacking game, he should get a look in, at least. At away games, he shouldn't ever start. You need someone who can win the ball ad battle in midfield, Koren just doesn't do that. But I stand by my original post - Fathi for me in both games. Koren in the 'super-sub' role.
Unfortunately the cut-off date for 10 bookings seems to be the second Sunday of April, ie today, so he will be suspended... If a Player accumulates ten cautions in FTCM between the opening day of the Playing Season and the second Sunday of April in the same Season, he will be suspended automatically for a period covering: Two First Team matches.
Evans was easily the best player on the pitch in that first half and would have been MOTM in my view if he hadn't got injured and gone off.
