Next year watfraud still a chance for 2nd but the playoffs are there for the taking P.s I've bloody jinxed us now haven't i
The name used for you in the thread may be unecessary, but don't get all spiteful now girls. Our debt is our debt, and there is no question about that - we'll just have to deal with it. Getting to the Prem will go a long way towards helping. Paying off Langston (Hamman) and the subsequent capitalisation of VT's investment will follow. In the meantime, stay cool and you can still do it despite yesterday - personally I hope you do. Hull coming up with us auto and you up through to PO's will do most of us nicely at Cardiff if only for that we can all continue chatting with each other on here whilst in the same division.
wear_yellow - don't worry about the red dragon pal, looks like your team performances are matching your colour as well - YELLOW......... We were taunted with the "bottler" tag for ages - looks like you're taking up the mantle.
It would seem that the Red Dragons do not like their new tag and it hits a nerve - oh well, if the cap fits and all that...
No nerves over here yellow one, we'll leave that to you lot as you scramble for the prize. Call us what you want - we couldn't give a toss. Frankly if "Red Dragons" floats your boat, fill your boots. We are now Prem and you are still wannabes - live with it. If the cap fits and all that....................
It's obviously exciting to get promotion to the top division for the first time in 51 years. Enjoy your moment but don't be surprised if Malky gets sacked by next Christmas and you are sitting in the bottom three. Won't be quite so good then will it?
Come on guys - be generous - Cardiff have been the best side in the division all year. They deserve to go up as Champions. Almost none of us were happy when Malky left us - why - because we rated him as a manager and he has now proved he can do the business. We have a had a fantastic season which has surpassed any of our pre-season expectations - if in the end we got a little tired and did not have that little extra then so be it. We might still make it via play offs and if not then next season is going to be great anyway.
Well said Leo! Congrats to Cardiff as promotion and top spot looks to be theirs! Hopefully we will join them! If not, we will give it another damn good go next year! We are ahead of where the owners expected us to be this season, but they can see the potential here, so if we don't go up, we will receive thier continued support for Zola and his staff into next and many more seasons... but this season is far from over yet
Precisely Leo... I can understand a little bit of banter, but sometimes the 'baiting' of opponent supporters isn't needed, especially if they have not been disingenuous to us at all. The Watfruad comment deserved the response, but we get defensive when people don't really understand what is going on at our club, and yet we do the same to others. We know little about how Cardiff are run. Cardiff are all but up. Over 46 games they have therefore been the best team, which is what matters, not over 30 games or so. They did it with our ex Manager, who we were sorry to go, our old back room staff, Heidar, Tommy, Don Cowie, Andrew Taylor and Jordan Mutch. We should actually be quite pleased about that (as long as they don't take any more!). Hull now look odds on to join them so lets just hope we can get that last place.
What a stupid comment and thank God some other Watford posters recognise that too. If we're "sitting in the bottom three" of the Prem next Christmas, then so be it - at least we'll be there giving it a go. This season has been a fantastic success, and all involved with Cardiff City FC, owners, management team, players and supporters have every right to revel in the moment. I won't mention sour grapes as it's an overused expression on the forums........oops, hang on a minute - I just did.
Im sorry, but what wrong with the comment? We have had fans attacking us all season on here and on all other social media, yet when I say that they should enjoy the good times whilst they last I get berated. The odds are that whoever does get promoted will be relegated right back down. The based on previous decisions by the Cardiff board they only care about making the club successful, and if they are in the bottom three come Christmas who is to say they wont toss MM out the door and replace him with a more successful model? Its a common occurrence these days, we have done similar this season. Why is it ok for other posters to resort to name calling, but it be wrong to point out the likely facts?
- Dan - you are quite possibly right and don't think Cardiff fans are so stupid they don't know it - most promoted teams struggle in their first year and ambitious clubs often DO sack managers by Christmas - and yes some fans of other clubs are idiots and WUMS. HOwever Cardiff and Hull fans for the most part have been honest and generous in things they have said and all we are saying is that now is the time to be generous in defeat - Cardiff should enjoy their good times. Let's face it - if we were to make it up through the play offs we would be the bookies favourites to go down and we know it but we would appreciate a few nice comments from others in the period between.
It's not what you say that matters - it's the implicit motives behind it. I don't care what fans of other clubs have said about you this season, that's no justification for exuding such apoplectic bile about my club and its' supporters who happen to have outshone you this season. I have no gripe with Watford nor Hull fans, but such comments on here make it easier to make a decision as to whom we'd prefer.
