I said Sunderland win. Depends on how you go in your tie tomorrow imo, if you play well and (please god) win 3-1 on the night then physically we'll have a massive edge. If you rest players and finish the game in 90 mins then a draw/win for you is more likely, who knows! Also I saw Ben Arfa could play against us? That's definitely a game changer A draw still remains most likely though, just thought I'd be optimistic!
extra time and penalties tomorrow please, we need every edge we can get in this game. Either way if we do somehow win I wont be and i'm sure the rest of us wont gloat as we could still be relegated! Bank the points and move onto Everton.
2 weeks ago I feared another Halloween horror show. I loved Martin as our manager but quite clearly something wasn't working. I saw only demoralized players turning up for a slaughter. I still have the craas as firm favourites but just don't know what the Di Canio effect will have. I'd take a draw; would love a win but expect defeat. I can only be resigned or happy then come Sunday tea time and not disappointed.
Because of the Di Canio factor and Newcastle not exactly setting the world alight, I would have actually fancied us for once to get something. However, through all the hope at the moment, I can't stop thinking the lack of a goalscorer is going to be our undoing.
I expect lots of high octane and a few wild tackles, I cannot see where we will get goals. A win for the Mags is most likely, they seem to have better midfield than us . I would take a draw now thanks but not sure we will get it.
Short odds on the mags, methinks. Brain says tense draw, but heart says we owe them & they'll be knackered from tonight. So I have very secret high hopes for a decent result. The fact remains that if the mags win they're safe and we will then have to beat both Stoke and Southampton at home AND get something off Villa if we are to stay up. A win for us would pile the pressure on the other crapola teams at the bottom.
A poll for a Sunday game closed early????? 2-1 for a SAFC win. Haven't put money on the lads lately, but had a canny wedge on us at 7/2 for the win. I would have fancied money at them odds even if I had been an outsider looking in, two horse race and not a *** paper between them in the league.
for the first time in a long time i have absolutely no positive feeling about tomorrow other than the fact that we may just attack a little more than usual. i just read that we haven't won in newcastle since 2000 and stats like that make it really sink in somewhat. that being said, i'm hoping this reverse psychology works in our favour somehow...
I've gone into pessimist mode (as usual on derby day) and gone for you lot winning. Reckon you owe us one and Thursday might have taken more out of us than we hoped. That said, I'll be glad to be proved wrong - again!!
A high tempo game will suit us more and I think this is what PDC will demand. The harder we can make your lot work the better it will be for us. That said, you're definite favourites, being the home team and in better form but it will be far closer than it would have been 2 weeks ago. I just don't know whether PDC's exceptional character and passion will seep through enough but he will be the focus point for TV cameras for sure. Box office he most certainly is.
