A neutral supporter could be forgiven thinking the Moyes End and half of the Main Stand were populated by the Home fans, such was the wall of noise generated by the
visitors from Watford, a team stuffed with skilful players (albeit on loan from Italian football).

Yet it was Posh who made the brighter start, Watford passing the ball well and neatly, but more often than not sideways or backwards, when they did get forward Bobby Oljenik
was rarely troubled. There were a couple of scares as Knight-Percival, Alcock and McCann continued to pass the ball to Gaby Zakuani, a good defender but Lionel Messi he ain't!

He slipped and fell whilst in possession on one occasion presenting the ball to Deeney, but thanks to some desperate, scrambled defending involving Gaby and Bobby the ball was thankfully
    cleared from danger.

The deadlock was broken when the ball was cleared quickly from defence and Danny Swanson was put through by a neat pass from Dwight Gayle (what a find he has been), the diminutive
midfielder finishing coolly when one-on-one with Almunia as well as any striker.

Troy Deeney was rightly booked after Watford had been denied a penalty. Deeney had been dissenting and moaning to the Referee from the start of the game and his prolonged protestations
finally led to a yellow card. Ekstrand was fortunate to stay on the pitch. Already cautioned, he hauled back Gayle, conceding a free-kick and was not shown the yellow card his foul deserved.

A change of personnel, Vydra coming on for Ekstrand, a change of formation and upping the tempo saw a more lively Watford putting Posh under pressure, pinning the Blues back in their
own half for prolonged periods. However it was these changes that led to their undoing as it left them vulnerable to a counter-attack, which Posh exploited to perfection.

A quickly cleared ball from defence, a neat interchange of passes between Tomlin and Gayle and it was 2-0 and London Road was rocking.

5 minutes later Gayle was clean through on goal when he was hauled down by Cassetti just outside the area. The Referee showed the Defender a deserved red card as he was last man
and a well taken free-kick from Tomlin had put the result beyond doubt, or so we had thought.

It seemed at times Posh were the team playing with 10 men, such was the dominance in possession shown by Watford, but they managed to withstand the pressure.
As the match meandered to a close, with many Watford fans already heading for the exits, Posh conceded a free-kick. A wicked deflection off the wall wrong-footed Olejnik leaving the ball nestling
in the back of the Posh net. 5 minutes added time was signalled by the 4th official, a neat attack from Watford, a shot from outside the area by Forestieri, again deflecting off a Defender
suddenly it was 3-2 and Posh fans became nervous, surely we couldn't let this slip now?

Thankfully, for the sake of my Cardiologist, the tired and weary Posh players managed to hold out until the Referee finally brought the game to a close and we had won.
Exciting, dramatic and entertaining, but I would prefer a nice, comfortable 3-0 win.

If Watford do miss out on automatic promotion they are the best team in the play-offs, but then the best team does not always win, as Posh showed today.

Hull will have a massive impact on Posh's fate, their next 3 games are against Wolves, Barnsley and Bristol City - surely having done them the favour of allowing George Boyd to move to the Tigers
and now beating their closest promotion rivals, we can hope and expect them to return the favours?

Today the Hornets were stung, hopefully Brighton will be rocked next.

I didn't go to Charters, but I did see UncleMick in the Stand. Poshpete was very happy as he came home from Nottingham for the weekend and
went to the match with me. We are also going to the Crystal Palace game as that is the week of his 21st, hopefully we will be safe by then.

You lot deserve to stay up because you've played a massive part in this season's championship, I mean you've beaten more top sides than we have.

We'll hopefully return the favour and beat Wolves, Bristol & Barnsley like you beat Cardiff & Watford for us. But don't count on it.

Good luck for the remainder. I still love going to London Road. Great old ground.

    Great win yesterday Minxy.

With that sort of form against the top sides, including us :emoticon-0106-cryin:emoticon-0106-cryin, twice :emoticon-0106-cryin:emoticon-0106-cryin, you should be pushing for the play offs.

Good luck for the rest of the season and make sure you stay in the Championship. <ok> With any luck the Stripey Nigels will be going suicidal by the time you get to Selhurst.

I think your friend from Greenwich is telling porkies - is he a Millwall fan? Been there 3 times and the only trouble I have seen was our lads fighting amongst themselves in the pub before the game - they were deciding who would buy the next round.
