Fraizer Campbell (shin) and Matthew Connolly (groin) will have late tests for Cardiff but both should play.
Defender Leon Barnett should also feature for the leaders after having his loan deal from Norwich extended until the end of the season.
Fifth-placed Nottingham Forest should have an unchanged squad to choose from and may start Lewis McGugan, whose late penalty secured a point at Blackpool. Former Bluebird Whittingham is expected to be amongst the substitutes.
Stephen McLaughlin's ongoing ankle problem remains the only injury worry.

    Head-to-head

    • Nottingham Forest's 3-1 victory in the reverse fixture in October temporarily knocked Cardiff off the top of the table. Forest's win was achieved despite having Adlene Guedioura sent off.
    • Victory would give Forest a second double over the Bluebirds in three seasons. Last term the opposite was the case, as Cardiff beat Forest home and away.
    • The East Midlands club have only recorded three away league victories over Cardiff in their history.

    Cardiff City

    • Successive draws, and two wins in eight outings, leaves Cardiff requiring another seven points from five remaining games to secure top-flight football for the first time since 1962.
    • The Bluebirds are chasing an unrivalled 25th Championship victory, and an addition to their unequalled 46 home points.
    • This is the second of three successive home fixtures. After the midweek 1-1 draw with Barnsley, they host Charlton on Tuesday and will later entertain Bolton between trips to Burnley and Hull.
    • Jordon Mutch is set to play in his 100th club game.

    Nottingham Forest

    • Nottingham Forest face the biggest threat yet to their 10-match unbeaten sequence under manager Billy Davies.
    • The City Ground club drew their first after the return of the current boss, then won the next six, and have drawn the most recent three.
    • They have found the net in each match of this undefeated streak, and are on the longest current continuous scoring streak in the division of 10 games.
    • Striker Billy Sharp is hoping to make his 250th career league start, while midfielder Guy Moussi could start a league game in a Forest shirt for the 100th time.
    • Forest still have three away fixtures and two at home, with visits to Middlesbrough (on Tuesday) and Millwall, and City Ground matches against Barnsley and Leicester (in the last game).

This next week decides it folks, make no mistake we're going up!

Malky Mackay admits Cardiff City's destiny is in their own hands as they bid for Premier League promotion.
The Bluebirds host Nottingham Forest at the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday.
City have been top of Championship for the last 20 weeks and and have a six-point lead with five games to go.
"Ask any team in this division, with five games to go, would they swap position with us and they would,"
We have five to go and I want us to finish unbeaten and get as many wins as we can. (Well stop fuggin' about then Malky)!
    :emoticon-0103-cool:

    Malky Mackay
    Cardiff City manager
"Given that you could still lose the league with five to go, but you don't have to count on other things to happen at this stage to get the prize we want to give everyone."
Cardiff's 0-0 draw away to fellow promotion rivals Watford on Saturday took them a step nearer to promotion.
But the Welsh side have been in a similar position before, having reached the Championship play-offs for the last three seasons, but ultimately missing out on promotion to the Premier League.
Cardiff have never played in the Premier League and the last time they were in English Football's top flight was when they were in the old First Division in 1962.
Now City find themselves six points ahead of second-placed Hull City and nine points ahead of Watford in third place.
Cardiff cannot secure promotion on Saturday, but if they beat Forest and Watford lose, it would leave them on the brink.
They would need only one more point to secure promotion and possible promotion party when they face Charlton at home on Tuesday, 16 April.
But Mackay refuses to get carried away and wants his side to keep the wins coming.
"I want us to win every game we play," said Mackay.
"We have five to go and I want us to finish unbeaten and get as many wins as we can.
"We just have to keep chopping games off and gaining points and my focus is on my team and I don't care about any other team in this division."

    Cardiff City's last five games.

    Sat, 13 April: v Notts Forest (H)

    Tue, 16 April: v Charlton (H)

    Sat, 20 April: v Burnley (A)

    Sat, 27 April: v Bolton (H)

    Sat, 4 May: v Hull City (A)

Cardiff's last five games of the season are against Nottingham Forest, Charlton, Burnley, Bolton and Hull City.
Mackay believes his players are "calm" and "focussed" on the job in hand as the season comes to its climax and the likelihood of them making history.
"We have a calm group of players who know exactly what is ahead of them," said Mackay.
"They are just doing their day-to-day and being good professionals recovering and preparing for the games.
"We have four games in ten days, which isn't ideal but is the way it is, and our minds are focussed on recovery.
"It's about being ready to take on the information for the new game. It's just a normal week."

It would be nice for the boys in the stadium if we could clinch it on Tuesday. Just need Posh to do us a favour. They owe us one after us letting them take 6 points off us. It would be nice for them to help us go up if we've helped them stay up.

Kimbo is ripping them to shreds!

    Henderson off.

Pull HH off (ohh errr) and get more pace on. Make the pitch wide, plenty of width, plenty of pace.

Hey Sussex. I think you are literally right. HH would have known he had to score after the last outing. Credit to him. One more and I will forgive him for anything he does for the rest of his life ;)
