Sure would've been better for Spurs to continue, but I think these ****s are tired as it is already, especially mentally, the pressure does not go, it's only going to get tougher for them, and at the moment, these ****ers can't defend for ****.
sickening how the itv pundits insist upon the result being because Basel were soooo good and not because the spuds were ****e lol
The team everyone wanted before the draw was Basle. tbf though Basle are better than I thought they were. I still want Chelsea to get them in the semis as we will take them
Just watched Adebayor's penalty. Interesting little dance before taking the penalty from the dopey twat.
at Adebayor Has anybody given that penalty the ice cream in face or felix baumgartner treatment yet ?
So it's Barca vs Bayern Munich and Dortmund vs Madrid in the semi-finals. Fancy a Bayern-Madrid final. Also, amazing how Barca have the second leg at home, AGAIN.
It'll be a Bayern v Real final. Real getting home advantage 2nd leg will be massive, they can play with relative freedom in the first leg (something they couldn't do against United) and I feel that will be the difference. What puts Barca at a distinct disadvantage is that all of the sides left are better without the ball which is where Barca have come unstuck in the past.
Yeah, I just switch off when the commentators start saying how well or badly teams are playing. I used to play a lot of tennis and in that sport a player can look brilliant one day and awful the next depending on how their opponent is playing. Appearances are deceptive. I have played a lot of sports, and I have always found that I am very rarely responsible for fluctuations in the quality of my play, unless they are physical (injury or fitness). When I lose, it is far more often the case that my opponent is just better than I am, no matter how badly I appear to be playing. I would expect a professional team to be even more consistent in their personal performances.
I agree with you, what annoys me about mainstream media when United lose a game or don't win is that it's always the fault of a referee or that they didn't play well/to their level. We've been told United haven't been at their best for 3 years running, maybe it's just their level. I only use them as an example but Barca are another. Only point I disagree with is using Tennis as an example because that's an individual sport where you are judged on your ability to be consistent. There are far more variables in football because there are 10 other players in a straight match up against another 11.
