    Governments impose taxes in order to tend to the needs of the people. Amongst the needs of the people is education.

    People who have faith are taxpayers therefore it is not an unreasonable expectation that their needs are attended to as well as those of no faith.

    Why do we not therefore teach about aliens in schools because there are a lot of us that strongly believe in it.

    Can't prove it but much like God or the Big Bang really.

    Yes it is - some people might want their kids to learn Chinese or to paly the ukilele - they pay for the privilege. If you want your child to be educated in a faith then you should do it or get the local church to do it.
