Read on BBC that a report stated Ryan Bertrand didn't travel to Moscow for the game, it also stated that as we know Cole isn't fit enough to play. But Nathan Ake has travelled and is a left footed defender, what are everyone's thoughts on the possibility of Ake starting tomorrow

I'm a bit confused! I've just been reading the match preview in the Times and it says that Bertrand is making the journey (but Ake is going too)

Ferreira will probably play LB if Bertrand didn't travel.

True forgot about Paulo, don't think it would be too bad to get Azpi to play there, but then maybe Ake can have that baptism of fire in Europe like Bertrand did last year

Good grief see how our Hot House flowers wilt with one blast of cold air up their Jacksys. Not inspiring or professional. Arses in Russia brains at Wemberley.

Didn't manage to see the game tonight. Seen the goals though.

Anyway, for those who did see it, how did Ake play?

He worked hard, but often appeared to be out of position, which I think is part of the reason that Ramires & Mikel looked weak. Ake + Ramires/Mikel didn't make enough challenges and gave the ball away far too often.

Also, he was in a team where lots of changes had been made - Terry didn't look fit, Paulo & Benayon both played (who rarely get an outing these days) with Lampard & Moses. Without Cole/Bertrand, Ivanovic, Mata, Hazard & Oscar, it was never going to be our usual game....plus on that crappy pitch.

I would be keen to see him play again with the full/best 1st team out around him - he just looked a litle lost out there. I'm sure others will disagree.....just my opinion!
